He knows more about the situation than I do, so I won't comment except on his point about Yoshi Tatsu. Yes, there is a much larger Spanish speaking audience. However, WWE has exactly one Japanese wrestler, who allows them to reach the Japanese market. They do great business in Japan but it helps to have an ambassador of sorts there. Also, let's be honest here, you have Rey, Sin Cara, and Del Rio, who are far more charismatic, that can address the Spanish speaking demographic. You don't need Chavo for that.

The only difference is MVP went on to wrestle in Japan and moved on with his life instead of complaining all the time. I don't think chavo is legally allowed to work anywhere else yet.. don't WWE contracts have a 3 month no-compete clause or something? Tell that to the new WWC champion. This is pretty much confirmed on WWC's Facebook. They have pictures from the event.

I think that clause pertains to appearing on TV only but I could be wrong. No, you're correct. As long as it's not on ppv or tv, you can do it. And Chavo won the secondary title in WWC. Carlito Colon is the Universal champion.

Rey is awful on the mic Del Rio needs his ring announcer for anyone to care about him Sin Cara will be released for steroid use in a few weeks WWE will regret releasing Chavo sooner then they think.

Rey's one of the biggest stars in the company and I'm sure the Spanish speaking demographic supports him. Chavo's a 40 year old who's best years are behind him. Not saying it's his fault, but he hasn't done anything significant in years. I doubt that he's going to become a charismatic, game changing uber face or heel any time soon. He's better off being a trainer at this point and that might be the biggest loss to come out of this. I like the guy as an in ring talent very much but he's only the latest in the long line of talented people to be underutilized by WWE. It's just part of the business, unfortunately.

The only reason anyone can say his best years are behind him is ageism. Last I checked R-Truth and Mark Henry are 2 of the biggest Heels in the WWE right now and Christian is WHC and all 3 of those guys are barely 2 years younger then Chavo.

Oh, I see.
Is that you Nancy Vasquez? Judy Bagwell wants her gimmick back.

The one thing I can say about this all is that during the initial stages of the "Eddiesploitation" thing with Rey, as a fan *I* was wondering why the hell the guy's best friend, and not his BLOOD RELATIVE was given the "do it in Eddie's memory" mega-push to the World Title.
If there were EVER a time to have gotten the WWE Machine behind Chavo, THAT was it. If they would have treated him like a star, and given him a win streak and a renewed purpose, who knows....maybe he COULD have fit into the WM triple threat match.
All I'm saying is....to me, THAT part of his beef seems legit.

It's not ageism, it's an issue of how Chavo would magically become a big deal after years and years of not being so. Truth has always been over on some level; Henry has been reliable enough over the years to put him into the upper main event scene whenever necessary. Chavo simply does not have that. When was the last time he was relevant? He's getting older; guys like Truth and Henry are exceptions to the rule. Plus, they don't work the same sort of physically demanding style that Chavo does. Even before his release, there's nothing at all to indicate that WWE had any plans for Chavo. I like the guy, I genuinely do, but to say that WWE's going to regret letting him go is simply wishful thinking.
