His Career After Eddie's Passing: "I always thought the WWE really dropped the ball after Eddie passed. I always thought the WWE didn't really want to cash in on Eddie's death. But I remember wrestling Triple H and the fans really went crazy for it. But they went with Rey for WrestleMania 22. And I went into Vince's office and told him that could be me. The fans could really get behind me. And instead that went into me turning heel and having a great program with Rey"
His WWE Release: "It was really a longtime coming. I went into the creative offices (after putting over Yoshi Tatsu on Superstars) and asked who's the better wrestler. They said me. I then asked how many countries speak Spanish. And then I asked who have you invested 10 years of television time into. They said me again. And I said they have no legs to stand on. I've always been about business but that's when I said I'm not doing this anymore."
So... he wasn't upset that they used Eddie's death in a storyline just that it was used on Rey instead of him.
Chavo seems very sour grapes and i'm foreseeing him becoming a very bitter old man.

A triple threat match between Orton, Angle and Chavo doesn't sound very Wrestlemania like.

I find it funny that everyone slams WWE for using Eddie's death like they did but Chavo thinks they weren't willing to go cash in on it enough.
Chavo would not have worked like Rey did. Rey was already over, and just got a boost, and even then he wasn't really booked like a main eventer after winning the title.

No, Chavo. The WWE obviously wanted to cash in on Eddie's death. What you meant to say is "The WWE didn't let me cash in on Eddie's death."

I think Chavo could have been a much bigger deal than WWE made of him, I don't agree that he deserved Rey's spot following Eddie's death, but I think he should have been a steady heel for the company. His feud leading to the I Quit matches with Rey was the perfect character for him, the conniving heel resting on the laurels of his Guerrero heritage.

I love how Chavo just implied he is better than Yoshi Tatsu so casually that no one seems to be upset at it.
Smooth.

If Chavo had a move named after an area code, maybe things would've been different for him.

I can't help but think if Chavo spoke like this on air he'd be a better heel than he was. Combine that with how effective Vickie's excuse mes were and they would've been the most detestable duo in the WWE heel wise.

I get Chavo and Eddie are blood, but the focus was always on Rey and Eddie's friendship and later their feud. From a storyline sense, it made perfect sense for Rey to pick up the ball than if Chavo just randomly beat Orton.
Damn, man.

Yeah. Chavo is a "loser" & "scum" for wanting to succeed. It would've been better to see Chavo get the push Rey got, especially since Chavo was the one that really needed it.

That "push Rey got" wasn't an instant Main event push.
It only worked because Rey was already on the brink in 2005. And even then we all know how his title reign went.

Chavo, for as decent a wrestler as he is, has not been 1/100th of the over figure that Rey has.
Plus, as annoying as Rey in that role of doing it 'for Eddie' got at time; Chavo woulda been ten times moreso.

He felt he deserved a push simply because he shared lineage with a popular performer who recently died. Is that really "wanting to succeed"?
