Honestly, while I don't always like his booking - which appears to be a Smackdown thing as he's been much more balanced on Raw - I think Rey is still one of the most entertaining guys they have. I always enjoy his matches. He and Punk had a fantastic bout the other month on PPV.

Rey is a great wrestler, he been entertaining for years and contiues to be so. I've never had a problem with Rey himself, it's the way he's booked on SmackDown that was the problem.
REY CAN'T WIN EVERY MATCH!! He's supposed to be the underdog, the guy who may win, he may lose, but he's always gonna fight his ass off.

Regardless of my negative opinion of him now, Rey will always be one of my favorite WCW Cruiserweights. His matches were spectacular and helped me build interest in WCW in 1998, an interest I still have to this day as evidenced by my VHS collection.

Can still remember watching his first match on ECW TV (the 2 out of 3 falls match with Psicosis, their second match in the company) and just thinking "Holy....s***." In his prime, his matches were must-watches. Even with busted up knees, he still can put on great matches. I also find the the touching heads with masked kids on the way to the ring to be cool...sweet, even. Drop your hard-won cynicism for a second, Rey haters. Imagine you're that kid. How awesome would that be? No other wrestler interacts that much with the crowd during their entrance and he has to make those kids' year when he does that. i'm a Rey Hater but i've always said his connection with the fans is an amazing one. Probably the only thing i really like about him nowadays. but i wasn't always as down on him, i was watching the Best of Nitro DVD's and seeing him on there made me remember how much i used to like him, he was so crisp and fluid, and i forgot how small the guy used to be. He was like Sin Cara's size. I assume his wellness violations were for steroids of some sort and that's what made him the bloated thing he his today. which is a shame b/c he didn't need it. but yeah, back on point, the kids...fans....his connection....

He's had surgery five times in his left knee. Maybe that will keep kids from trying this at home.
I can't stand him otherwise, and never could.

One of the best wrestlers of all time. And one of the most influential ones also.

Wow. Keep 'em coming. I never understood the haters either. Does Rey have that much pull or is it his popularity that has helped him in winning matches?

He often looks like a frog when doing his pained expression.

He's still very entertaining in the ring despite having no knees, not being able to do the moves he used to and having a very irritating finisher.

Hes been f***ing SICK in the ring in 2011. His matches especially with Punk have been non stop entertainment.

He's nice enough to let Dominic live with him, even though that's not his child. I don't hate Rey at all. I just don't get the "underdog" push.

He never lets me forget my straw.
Seriously though, he is a true legend who isn't heralded as one nearly often enough. He has one of the best looks in American wrestling, but isn't all show and no substance. He can put on great matches with just about anyone.

He has adapted to the "WWE Style" very well over the years, while still performing the moves that made Rey Mysterio what he is today. I like his early ECW and WCW work the best, but he's had consistently good matches in the WWE.
Plus, I got to witness him winning the Royal Rumble in 2006 after spending an hour and two minutes in the ring, a record that has yet to be broken.

Picking up and throwing Rey out of a Rumble is like catching a fly with chopsticks and tossing it to the floor, that's why the record has stayed for so long. So, he got that going for him.

He's one of the top 10 Cruiser/Lightheavyweights ever. Might even be top 5. Don't get the hate.
