So yeah reading up on the CM Punk stuff I've seen him referred to as a hipster which he clearly isn't. No hipster would ever choose to come out to an AFI song, let alone agree to come out to a Killswitch Engage song.
It made me wonder though if you can get a heelish hipster over as a wrestler? Personally I'd love to see during a cross brand feud how he'd not know his opponent's recent string of wins because he doesn't own a tv!

I was thinking about this exact gimmick for Daniel Bryan once he cashes in MITB. If they get behind it would be very entertaining. But I don't know how they would do it without making it over the top and he coming off as a joke.

Seriously, Miz used to wear a fedora with a yin-yang symbol on it. It was the most pretentious thing ever. I loved it. I loved when he had an actual personality once upon a time.

Would he wrestle in skinny jeans, a fedora and fingerless gloves? If so, then yes it would work, as long as he got his ass kicked every week.

Daniel Bryan would work because he's also a vegan and from Washington so you can say he "moved" to Portland as part of the character but at the same time they appear to be pushing him face.
The hard part would in fact making it more subtle than just spouting off things from "stuff white people like"

His entrance music will change every week because the song has officially became mainstream.

His entrance music will change every week because the song has officially became mainstream. And they only wrestle on Superstars, since Smackdown and Raw are too mainstream.

He could grow up a fan, before anyone else heard of wrestling.
His favorite world champion was Tommy Rich.
He was one of ECW's first fans, but stopped watching before their first televised episode.

His entrance music will change every week because the song has officially became mainstream. More likely, he wouldn't have a theme, because the bands he likes refused to license their songs. It would be against their principles.

He liked Daniel Bryan, Evan Bourne and CM Punk before they "sold out"

His favorite promotion of all time is WSX, because it didn't last long enough to ever "sell out".

He'd turn heel by hating on his fanbase once it got big.

I'd rather see a hipster face. And if the crowd gives him a mixed reaction, they should keep up the push a bit longer.

A hipster, face or heel, would make me miss Hardcore Holly.

::A bit of a side rant that may be slightly off topic - but since it was mentioned early in the thread...::in my personal experience (almost 20 years in the scene in one way shape or form) - people who are as ingrained in the DIY hardcore and punk scene as Phil Brooks would (irony aside) drop kick somebody who called them a hipster to their face (broad generalization and hyperbole to make a point) because 'hardcore guys' and 'hipsters' do...not...mix (occasional criss crossing over some fashion senses aside) ANYBODY who has referred to CM Punk as a 'hipster' or a 'hipster' type character is - to be blunt - a moron who doesn't have the first clue what the hell a hipster really is and is just (like a whole hell of a lot of people) using it is a catchall term to label something or somebody they don't consider 'the norm' or what have you. Back on topic.... No. I don't think it would. At all. HOWEVER...this idea His entrance music will change every week because the song has officially became mainstream. HUZZAH!

Hipster? Can't have one of those! It'd mean we'd fall short of our generic, SRS suit wearing heel quota!
