If Punk is walking, they HAVE to end the PPV (off-air, obviously) with that. Both of them putting each other over and hugging it out. It would be absolutely hilarious just to see the crowd's mind blown. Like WrestleMania 20, without the impending heart failure and murder. WAIT? THEY LIKE EACH OTHER!?!? WHY AM I HERE!? WHERE'S MY KAYAK!?

With this and Cena vs Punk... to me these are the absolute BEST programs of the last decade or at least since Michaels vs Jericho 2. Real passion, crossing the lines between reality and kayfabe, making the viewer guess what going to happen. And whats more amazing to me, is that Cena, a guy who in 2006 i HATED with a vile passion... is involved in the two biggest and most interesting programs I've seen in years... SIMULTANEOUSLY. No matter what happens MITB will be amazing and I can't help but feel it'll add yet more fuel to the Cena vs Rock fire. I'm actually excited about what might will happen. But anywho, just wanted to bring some unanalysed positivity . I want to second this, I can't wait for MITB and I certainly can't wait for next years 'Mania. Cena manages to fit into niches where he plays the middle ground boring babyface against guys like Punk and Rock who are giving legit reasons to why people should love them and not him. He does play that role amazingly. One Night Stand showed that in 2006 and he's always been good at it. <High fives objective observation>

Cena is going to Chicago to wrestle CM Punk in the main event of MITB, and going to Miami to Wrestle the Rock in the main event of Wrestlemania
And him, Punk, and Rock are throwing in kayfabe, real life, and all that into everything. Punk is feuding with Cena while simultaneously taking shots at the Rock and showing respect to Cena, and Cena himself is preparing to piss off the hometown hero in the two biggest matches of the near future.
And he's purposefully tying them together in some ways by comparing his match with Punk to his match with Rock.

Personally, Cena's lost this battle if he continues with the same "you're not here, I am" line.

@therock @mattaadams .. thank u brother. I'll be shooting GI Joe from AUG-NOV and not available. Honored you asked me though. Stay Strong
That time schedule works out nicely for a return at the Survivor Series. Would be nice to see him in a ring following MiTB...especially is Cena get's his ass fired.

Personally, Cena's lost this battle if he continues with the same "you're not here, I am" line. THAT is why I can't support Cena (in kayfabe). This might seem like I'm overthinking this storyline but every time I see or hear Cena say that, I remember guys who have gone full throttle in this business and are either broken down, retired or dead. This business is vicious, vindictive and has a very big culture of 'Use until there's nothing left of you'. Rock got out, partially because he had no choice and partially because he was successful, because he has a family. He can look after them, have a successful career and not be a broken down guy looking for paychecks from dirtbags in small promotions not worth your time or, more importantly, not be found during a tour on the floor, dead of heart failure. If anyone, I don't care if you're The Rock or Curt Hawkins, is able to get out of it with their health and able to make money another way, I'd say it's great because I'm damn tired of hearing about 'Such and Such dead at the age of 40'. Sorry, I know I'm overthinking what is essentially a pissing contest between two guys online, but every time Cena says that, those are my thoughts.

Over thinking perhaps, but I'd say you're spot on for the most part. If Cena is a WWE guy for life as he claims, then he'll most likely end up battered and broken down by the time he hits 40-45 (which is only 6 years away). Rock was forced out when he was what? 33? So that would mean he had to hang it up around about Cena's current age. Now I don't know about you, but passion or no passion...nothing is worth losing your quality of life (or you're life completely) for. Rock has nothing to prove in this feud. Cena however, is starting to prove that he's a whiner, and has ran out of steam. He can't retort any more, because his one and only argument was just shot down in flames. It makes me worried for the feud if they can't push it any further than this. Don't tell me (to Orton's dismay)...that creative may actually have to write something for Cena?

To counter that point slightly, I'd go back to the point I made earlier. I have never asked Rock to come back and work a full schedule. I can fully understand his desire to stay the hell away from that! But it's the fact that him making appearances has been SO rare that makes it seem that his love for wrestling and for his fans isn't as genuine as he claims it to be. I am not asking him to kill himself for me. Just saying hi more often would be nice!

I am not asking him to kill himself for me. Just saying hi more often would be nice! I can see your point. Hell, I agree. What people forget, though, is that most of the time, his schedule isn't controlled by him. At this point, Rock's got a tonne of people behind him, PR, agents, trainers, who know which roles he should go for, what their filming plan is, what he has to do to prepare for the role energy and condition wise, where he has to go to promote said movies etc. He came back because he was free that period of time and the people behind him realised the oppertunity that would bring so, really, if you want to blame anything, blame the fact he has a film career still. Not saying he couldn't spare any time but...well, he'd have to do it when noone is looking.

Everyone's banging down on their keyboards really hard and fast whilst they type angry messages about wrestling promos. Picking their favourites, hating the competition, hoping they lose. And they think they're smarks!
Haha! That match is gonna be awesome!

Exactly! I wish I cared more for Rock or Cena. I wish I was this stupidly angry about every match. It'd be far more enjoyable.

"Hey, WRESTLER X called your favourite WRESTLER Y a doofus, in a shoot, brother!"

The spectacle and occasion will sell this match. However, I don't see anyone claiming to be 'smarks' here. We're simply discussing a story line, and who we think is right and wrong in said story line. That interesting thing about this however, is that it appears to have been started through genuine heat between the pair.

My point is, I'm sure everyone here thinks they're somewhat "in-the-know", I'm no different, but even the CM Punk fued at the moment can't begin to match this level of divided opinion and THAT is what makes it a great fued. It's by no means on the level with CM Punk in terms of promo-menship (or whatever, jesus, who cares) but it's certainly got a very enviable dividing factor.

My liking of the Rock is diluted every time I read threads like this (the bit where someone bitched at someone for "being a John Cena fan" was cringeworthy).
Putting that aside, I liked the promo (although Zack Ryder needs to teach him how to use editing software. 11 minutes!). I like the fued. I'm not sure why it's all discussed as though it's a real arguement, but I suppose I like that it feels 'real' enough for that to happen.
