Does this mean Johnny Ace is going to get a main event push? Yes. At WM 28 Johnny Ace is going to lay out The Rock backstage and face Cena in the main event, and go over. Billion Dollar Buy Rate right there.

There's not a whole lot Laurinaitis can do if some guys simply do not want to be in WWE anymore, or want some kind of time off. What else can he do if Vince won't allow these guys fewer dates or raises? What can Laurinaitis do if certain guys feel they've been buried and want out?

I think it was posted a few weeks ago. Besides, Ace is an executive VP of Talent Relations, that position is for a VP.

LOL, what a dumb story. Like Trips and Vince wouldn't just go around him if they thought he was ineffective. No, they just shrug their shoulders and yell at Johnny Ace instead. I mean, not that he shouldn't be yelled at, but still

I really hope Taker gets this job.. otherwise, pro-wrestling could be dead to me. What about Triple H, aka the guy who brought Mistico to WWE? (no botch machine jokes please)

LOL at the name of the website, "wrestlenewz." Please note the other links I posted on Page 1. This story appears to have originated on SEScoops.

I find it incredibly hard to believe that the signing and re-signing of main-eventers is done without Vince's knowledge. It isn't. Doesn't really have anything to do with this though. Ever get interviewed for a job and interview with both the interviewer, then his boss (and then sometimes his boss?) The interviewer's gotta get you to his boss first though. I know these aren't interviews but it is still similar situation. Ace is the one that should be working these things out in advance so he can then go to Vince and say "Okay I was talking with Punk and he wants to work with us some more, we talked about x, y, and z". Then Vince can talk with him if he wants. In Jericho's second book, Vince comes to him to ask about signing a new deal, at which point he tells him he wants to leave. Infact, I think all his contract deals are done directly between him and Vince. Beyond that, the story is so vague, it gives no details of what Ace is supposed to have done wrong. What chain of events is the report even suggesting happened?

Well, if this is true, yet another disgrace for Johnny Ace. So that would include: a) Austin (possibly) b) The Rock (played a role in the whole contract thing in 2004) c) Zack Gowen (wrong one-legged wrestler) d) Booker T (went with FCW so that he could party in Florida more) e) most of the Women's division (allegedly hires based on his libido) f) Brock Lesnar (pissed him off so that he ended quitting) g) Matt Hardy (the whole thing with Edge and Lita) h) CM Punk (if it happened; comedy if it did) i) The Dynamic Dudes (not even the Fat Boys could save them) Lets not forget the Juniors division. Court Bauer gets a pitch for a replacement cruiserweight division approved, gives a list of talent to Mr. Ace that he'd like signed, featuring guys like Mistico, Millano Collection AT and so on, only to get midgets.

I don't like the guy, but usually play devil's advocate. So, didn't Johnny Ace sign Punk in the first place? And Daniel Bryan?

obviously, I'd rather have a more credible source report this, but it doesn't sound too implausible to me.

The truth is probably closer to this, I would imagine : Hunter's next in line for that job, and he can have it any time he wants it.
And he's starting to really want it.

I don't like the guy, but usually play devil's advocate. So, didn't Johnny Ace sign Punk in the first place? And Daniel Bryan? For every Punk and Daniel Bryan, he's signed 7 or 8 guys or gals who never came close to even leaving developmental, let alone making money for the company. It didn't take a genius to realise that two guys rated as the finest workers on the independent scene who want to work for them might be worth a shot.

If Punk is that important to McMahon then why didn't he involve himself in the negotiations? At some point the Boss needs to step up if he wants to keep the top talent if an underling can't get it done.
