^^ Going on the mat is exactly what wrestling is not doing a bunch of high spots. Going on the mat is what real high school/college wrestling is about, Pro Wrestling is about entertaining the fans, and those big moves gets the crowd riled up, and Rey has to use those types of moves to take down his much larger opponents. He's not going to do moves that require power, he's going to do moves that'll wear down his opponent or land one big offensive move. That's how a guy his size HAS to wrestle, and if it works (i.e. gets him wins) then I can definitely see him as credible.

To me the fact that Rey is small isn't the problem. It's the fact that his offense isn't credible.
If someone like Dean Malenko was made champion I could buy it, since he's so technically sound.
But to believe that someone could become world champion using hurricurannas and head scissors is pushing it.

Oh, I think his offense can be credible- driving the other guy's head into the canvas is an "ouch" move no matter how it's done. But that he's smacked around like a gnat so often, spends more time on the canvas than Rembrandt (borrowing how J.R. described Dwayne Gill, there), and seldom ever kicks out before "2" makes him look less formidable in the ring. This last Royal Rumble was just about the worst case of him getting largely thrashed and doing a whole lot of nothing for most of the match- even getting hit by several finishers- and then miraculously winning.
Too often, I'm left wondering not if Rey has any match-ending or even remotely damaging moves, but how the guy has any strength left to perform them.

I don't believe Rey is the weakest WHC in history. Surely that title belongs to Vince Russo or David Arquette?
Anyway, I'm not a fan of Rey. But he definitly puts on entertaining matches, and is a very over wrestler. The only reasons I have to dislike him is the Eddie stuff (which, to be honest, is the main reason), the fact I prefer the wrestlers he's fueding with (I would've much preffered Angle or Orton to win), and the fact I think he won it on the back of Eddie's death. He probably would've won the belt eventually (And deservedly so), but it does seem like they pushed him early due to Eddie dying. I would have much preffered it if he'd won it as Mysterio, working his way up (despite his victories over main eventers, he did jump to the main event awfully quick, and his Rumble victory did seem a little unrealistic). But if Rey stops with the Eddie stuff immediatly, then I really don't see a problem. I can't say he is a weak champion simply because I don't like the guy.
