Before Wrestlemania. Probably Summerslam. It makes no sense to trot him out to slaughter against the Rock in a face vs. face match. There's just no point. We already know he can play a great heel, and I think personally, it's time for him to snap.

The funny thing is, it's likely going to be a similar situation to the Rock in 2003, where the heel turn makes him about a thousand times more entertaining, and as a result people suddenly start cheering him again.

And as soon he start to play to the crowd again, they booed him. The question is Cena's character booking going to change? Turning him heel doesn't guarantee he will stop being Superman or go down the card.

See, here's my thing. A heel John Cena would be great, sure. However, WWE has had plenty of opportunities to turn him and chose not to take them. He could of turned him during his stint in Nexus but they didn't. They could of turned him during the whole thing with Rock leading up to WrestleMania but they didn't. Hell, they could of done a double turn at Money In The Bank ala Bret Hart/Stone Cold at WrestleMania 13 but...well, you get the point.
The vibe I get from WWE is that they would like to turn him, but they feel he's too popular as a face to do that or they just wouldn't feel comfortable in letting that amount of money they get from selling Cena merchandise go down the drain. I'm not saying it would but WWE probably think otherwise.
The point I'm trying to make is WWE probably wants to turn him heel but the thought of it being a bad business decision is what's stopping them. Also I think they want to create the idea when he eventually enters the Hall Of Fame in years to come (which you know will happen) is that he was 'a hero to children'.

The problem is most people want to turn Cena heel.....by taking away everything people hate about him.
Which is all kinds of ass backwards.

Never - he's too nice a guy in real life to believe as a heel. The fact that we have seen pictures promoted by the WWE with Miz posing for pictures with kids from the Make A Wish Foundation kills that statement.

But you see is that WWE doesn't want to risk kids hating Cena by turning Cena heel. Maybe WWE thinks that if they turn Cena heel, he won't get anymore Make A Wish offers. Absurd, I know. But they want their good image publicity with Make A Wish. And no matter what, Cena is the company guy. And alas, he is babyface.

I can't believe this question keeps getting asked. He will never turn heel. EVER.Yes, he will. It's likely a few years away, but the day will come eventually.

I get that he is a company guy, I get that his contributions to the charities are well known. I respect Cenas a person I really do. He comes off as a very down to earth, humble, hard working, and good natured guy who loves the business that he's in. What I have a problem with is the way he's booked and how he's shoved down the fans throats. I get it that kids, teeny boppers, and soccer moms love his image and his merchandise. But it's time to freshen his character up and turn him heel. Punk can be the face of the company now. His merchandise is selling, he is red hot now as far as his overness is concerned, he's great on the mic, and can wrestle. The time to turn Cena heel is now and the time for Punk to be the face of the company is now. Punk's straight edge lifestyle alone is enough to generate massive sells, charities, and good publicity for the company.

WWE want the Wrestlemania match to be a clash of the eras type deal, so I highly doubt he will be turning until after, if at all.

I think it's inevitable that Cena will turn heel. Nobody can stay a face forever. And for those who say "It'll never happen". Were you the same ones that said Hogan would never turn heel? The same ones who said Austin would never turn face? Vince never turned Hogan heel. Bischoff turned Hogan heel. Vince has only ever turned a mega-face heel, if there's been another on the same level (like Austn/Rock). Austin was getting mixed reactions within six months of arriving in the WWF, and was a fully fledged face within 15 months. There was never really a suggestion that he'd never turn face.

Anyone who says he'll never turn must be new to pro wrestling. That's the only explanation I can muster. Just look at any of the recent "How long have you been a fan" threads. A huge chunk of the board's current user base has only started watching in the last 5-10 years, which I think may be why some see the idea of Cena ever turning heel as completely unthinkable. This has to be it, how many of us thought Austin would turn heel in '01? By the way, at that point he had the top merchandise sales in wrestling history. Hogan's heel turn at GAB was a huge suprise. I bet people even said Bret wouldn't turn heel and Austin wouldn't go face in '96 when they started fueding. It seems like everyone thinks it so impossible. I guess fans that have never seen a face of the company or top face turn heel in the WWE would find it hard to believe Cena would eventually turn. Also, I bet they can still find a way for a heel Cena to move merchandise. Alot of top heels have been able to sell merchandise in the past, just look at the nWo, Austin and Punk himself. As far as beating the Cena heel turn questions with a dead horse, I think now is a perfectly appropriate time to ask the question. They have the perfect opportunity for the double turn. Finally someone appears over enough to be the next face of the company, although not one in Cena's image, but more like Steve Austin.

I can't believe this question keeps getting asked. He will never turn heel. EVER.Once he gets to the point where even the women and kids don't care about him, he will turn. The same thing happened to Hogan.

Chris Hero jumps the guard rail and interrupts a match between Primo and David Hart Smith saying the war is starting. a few weeks later he brings Claudio along. he challenges 3 WWE guys at a PPV and say they have a surprise. they face Rey Mysterio, John Morrison and Randy Orton, all 3 wearing Mysterio masks to show that they're united. the 3 WWE guys take on Hero and Claudio. Morrison gets hurt during the match and is taken out. Mysterio is also knocked out during the match and it's 2 on 1 against Orton. then John Cena comes out to even the score but instead of attacking the KOW, he hits the Five Knuckle Shuffle on Orton. then Mean Gene comes out to interview him for some reason.
sorry, I just blew the next year of storylines.

I think he'll turn heel eventually, though not for quite a while. The earliest I see them turning him heel is around Wrestlemania, but I don't think it'll happen before then.
