It's a funny extreme to think that one week you're planning an incest angle and then the next week you're PG. Burchill's debuted on RAW in February 2008, Rating change became official in July. So there was a time break between the two. As for why Vince is apparently obsessed with incest angles, his Playboy interview kind of implies there were some issues in his childhood to that nature.

I actually like the sound of the Maria idea. Would be a nice lowercard angle with a comedy goofball like Zack Ryder or Santino. Edit: Also the mental image of leaving the room in stunned silence is hilarious. Even more so imagining him sat in his limo on the drive home with the same stunned look on his face. Sort of like when Homer saw Apu cheating on his wife.

I am quite surprised to discover that Goldust wanted the fake boobs and Vince considered it, rather than vice versa. I'd always thought it was a demented Vince idea. No, Vinnie Mac even discussed it on the night of the last episode of WCW Nitro. He said something like "Dustin wanted to get breast implants, and it was such an outrageous idea that I fired him on the spot."

Yeah, I remember Hardcore Holly's gimmick being pitched again in 2007 after he injured his arm and was taken out by Snitsky.
Apparently, Holly and Eugene were going to team together on SmackDown and be managed by a monkey. Instead they decided to have Holly move to Raw and he teamed with Cody instead.

You know, I love that the guy who came up w/ Baron Von Bava basically ripped off Captain America, except changed the guy from an American super soldier to a Nazi one, and acted like he was a genius for doing it.

That Parisi story reminds me of Homer pitching a change to Poochie's character on The Simpsons.
Johnny Parisi: Uh, hi, Mr McMahon. I've been doing some thinking, and I've got some ideas to improve my character. I got it right here. 1) I need to be louder, angrier, and have access to a time machine. 2) Whenever I'm not onscreen, all the other wrestlers should be asking "Where's Johnny Parisi"? 3)...

Baron von Bava is priceless. Just picturing the guy goose-stepping around and Vince leaving without saying a word. Johnny Swinger's idea just strikes me as he wants to crossdress but is afraid of the social consequences, so he wants to mask his obsession by it just being part of a storyline. Just comes across to me as any excuse to roll around a ring with Trish!

I surprise that they didn't mention the purposed gimmick for Orlando Jordan in WWE as a time travelling bisexual. And to think years later TNA turned the gimmick into a time travelling lesbian ghost with brain washing powers.

Where the f*** do they come up with this shit? I'd love to be in the Creative Team offices just for a day just to see what kinds of weird and hilarious shit they come up with.

WTF is Vince's obsession with doing incest angles? 1st his idea with Stephanie. Later, his idea to do an incest Angle with Paul and Katie Lea. Even though, they're not really siblings it's been well established that they're brother and sister on TV. I know pro wrestling is looked at as "Soap Operas for Males", but that's just effing creepy! Just be greatful he didn't come up for one between him and Shane.

Hey I'd mark out for annything with a monkey, or any primate. I'd even mark for a Wrestler in a gorilla suit.

Sorta related, but wasn't TL Hopper based on Patterson's plunger fetish?

I have never heard of those being related.

The frozen nazi thing initially just sounds dumb (like the plot of a really bad syfy original movie). Till Madigan says he wants Heyman, a Jewish guy, to be manager. At that point it's pretty clear Madigan is just trying to piss off everyone he can.
Probably for the best Madigan never stuck around in pro wrestling. Sounds like another Russo.

I just read the Orlando Jordan time travel storyline.
Now, wacky ideas are one thing but that, and alot of these other storylines, are just flat out dumb.

Actually Paul and Katie Burchill were originally supposed to be part of an incest angle, but thankfully the PG rating happened and it was scrapped (i heard the gimmick did make it to house shows before they debuted on tv though). Sometimes I hear that a really horrible idea was 'road tested' in a house show (like the thing with Harlem Heat, or this), and it just makes me feel badly for the people who paid to go to that houseshow... I mean, especially if they brought kids and have to explain to them 1) what they saw and 2) how (presuming they still watch on TV later) it is never referred to or mentioned again- not just in a 'that match didn't count' way, but in a "That awful thing you saw? Just experimenting." way. IIRC it was never intended to be a real incest angle. As in, they weren't going to be blood related. Katie Lee was to be his step-sister and they would have this Cruel Intentions thing going on. The brother/step sister dynamic isn't very offensive IMO, I just can't fathom how that would have helped the product any.
