Selling and telling a story is part of "wrestling" Cena does not get it. Cena certainly doesn't get the telling a story part. Nope. Not at all.... Well technically Cena never sit down in the middle of the ring and read us a bedtime story. So he can't tell story.

Cena not being able to tell a story? Wow.
Anyway, "you can't wrestle" really is just another chant now. It's no different from "you suck" or "shut the f up".

Yeah, its just routine now. While his matches with Miz have stunk, he and Punk both brought the heat in both of their matches. Both guys deserve equal credit.

I think he is acceptable at it, but not great, personally. Put him in there with someone who is a master at it, and he puts on great matches. I'd never expect Cena to elevate a match though. I still think his most impressive series was in 2007 against Great Khali. Shawn and Hunter come to mind as two guys who couldn't have a good match with him. Cena had two. That was one of the turning point moments for me. Agreed. Ive always championed his match at the Rumble with Umaga as being the moment he won me over, those matches with Kahli cemented the notion that the guy could go

2007 Cena the peak version in my eyes, but this Punk feud really seems to have gotten him fired up again and he's performing around that level. Hope it continues all the way through to WrestleMania.

There are many, many chants that have to go before "you can't wrestle"

There are many, many chants that have to go before "you can't wrestle" "WHAT?!" About 3 months ago, I would have agreed with this, but R-Truth totally makes the chant worth it. DON'T WHAT ME! If they could chant it ONLY to Truth, I'll never complain about that chant again.

There are still flaws in his wrestling, but he's shown by know that he CAN in fact wrestle.
Was surprised to hear Kelly get the chants as well.

I'm willing to bet all the guys at ringside yesterday that are local indie workers weren't chanting that. They know John Cena can wrestle, and they know what it means to be in the ring in front of people, wrestling one of the most important matches of your career.
I was a little ashamed my town was dispensing with this chant. I understand that it just might be the same kind of Kurt Angle/"You Suck" phenomenon, but I don't know, I think there is a difference between saying in effect "You can't do your job" (to Cena) instead of "You do your job in a way that makes me angry" (to Angle.)
Maybe I'm just looking too much into it.

It's like the "You Suck" chants at Kurt Angle; we all know damn well he doesn't suck, but it just caught on. I don't think anyone really thinks Cena can't wrestle, it's just what they do. No..."you can't wrestle" chants aren't routine. Those are saved for people the public REALLY doesn't care for in ring. Like slow hosses.

I am not even a Cena fan, but the chants are starting to annoy me. They are the epitome of smarkiness. Cena was completely right, even if he puts on a 5 star match he will still get those chants, and according to Dave Meltzer he has been in a 5 star match. It's funny how the fans who claim to be "smart" to the business can sometimes be the biggest idiots.
As far as the Rock/Stone Cold comparison, Cena is just as good if not better in the ring than those two. The Rock and Cena's moveset is extremely close, but I believe Cena has put on better matches. Austin was a good wrestler in WCW, his moveset seemed more limited in the WWE and his injuries slowed him down. The thing is the top guy in the WWE usually has a very limited moveset because that is what the company wants them to do. Cena has proven many times he is capable of more.

But then again, Umaga stole the show a lot. I liked Umaga.

Some people will never be pleased about Cena's work, never ever unless he turns heel or something. It's become a fashion to hate on everything that Cena does, because it probably makes some people feel cool and tough when they chant like that.

Cena will never get the recognition because hes so predictable. The Rock/Punk/Stone Cold are great because you never knew what they were gonna do, Cena will never get it. 2 of those 3 had very close to the exact same moveset every match. And Cena has been adding moves on and off as of late. Your argument fails Never in the way the 5 moves of doom chain together like clockwork every single match.

Cena and The Rock are pretty good comparisons actually. I think Cena outclasses Rock in the ring a bit, and Rock outclasses Cena on the Mic bit a bit more than that, but both are guys whose real strength is connecting with the fans and mic work rather than great matches. Both have had great matches, with the right opponents though.
Both also look stupid as hell when applying submissions holds too. ;D

I like it. It's the ultimate insult to a guy I can't stand. I chanted it gladly at MITB and would do so again in a heartbeat.

The only issue I can give Cena is that for some reason, he has an issue selling an injury.

I respect Cena for having to put up with that crap, because he's probably the only main eventer who I've seen add new moves into his routine as time goes on, although I cringe everytime he goes for the top rope legdrop - He's too big to be taking a risk like that.
