Wow, the full article paints him as an even bigger douche than the shortened version.
Confidence is one thing, but he has a pretty unwarranted ego and thinks too highly of himself.

So he's just making a career of being on reality shows then. All I needed to know about this guy.

Sounds like WWE was right to not sign him. He does come off as an arrogant prick in this. wait, most of the roster is the same way......so why not sign him?

I don't think most of the roster is bragging about "making Dusty Rhodes piss himself"
There are varying degrees of "arrogrant prick".

If you're going to be an arrogant prick, you'd better have the in-ring chops to back it up.
Jeremiah here is betting with an empty hand.

Anybody remember that "Bottom 3" where Stone Cold told Andy to do exactly what Jeremiah is doing right now? Austin essentially gave a carbon copy of the exact speech that everybody is ripping into Jeremiah for giving. He told the boys to do that, and when one of them takes his advice and does it, he gets labelled as having a "bad attitude".
Jeremiah has been in the business for a few months. He sees one of the three biggest names in the business essentially tell him to amp it up to 11 and go off. So he does. And it backfires on him. Honestly, I don't blame Jeremiah one bit for any of what he said. He was emulating something that one of the biggest names ever in the business has done about 498 times -- something he was *told* to do.
But it's OK when Austin does it, right?

Austin has 13 years of experience playing a character that was a natural extension of himself. Riggs has a few months of experience and attempted to emulate one of the most successful characters in the history of wrestling, rather than be an extension of himself, so it's should be as no surprise when he's nowhere near as good. But that's not the underlying point. The underlying point is this: Riggs sees arguably the biggest names in the history of the business make it to superstardom doing exactly what he just did. In fact, one of them said to do exactly what he just did. So that's what he did. And what does he get for it? A "bad attitude" label and no job.

Here's the thing, you, me, the world at large has no actual idea what Austin said to him because we saw entire weeks compressed into 44 minutes. However it seems unlikely that Austins full and nuanced advice was "be a dick."
We saw that speech because it made for good TV. And Jeremiah, having been through the reality TV show wringer several times probably didn't need to be told twice. BUT there is a huge difference between on TV/in the ring and day to day in the office and training. His own words paint him as some one who doesn't understand that at all.

Its a thin line. Thats all.
Some are likely to see it as positive, and some won't stand it. But thats understandable because everyone in a position of influence is bound to have different thoughts.

Austin told Andy to ask him "Why are you in this business", then Austin gave his own version of the exact speech everybody is ripping into Jeremiah for. He told andy (and by extension, the entire TE cast) that that was how you answer when someone asks you what you have to offer the business. That was the answer Austin was looking for. That was the answer the higher ups were looking for (according to austin); they wanted someone who wasn't afraid to take the situation by the balls. So when Jeremiah found himself in that real-life situation, he did what he saw and was told to do by the most successful man in the business.

Jeremiah's goal should have been to get signed, not to make people believe that he was going to be better than Stone Cold Steve Austin.

The whole point of the show was to get signed in the first place. Austin was telling Andy what he had to do to get signed, remember?

Here are my thoughts broken down.
1) If he thinks he was doing "CM Punk stuff before CM Punk made it cool", he's clearly got no idea that CM Punk has being saying crap like this for ten years on the indies. I'd say that saying them at an FCW show would be the equivalent of the indies, so no, he didn't do anything before Punk.
2) I'm okay with a guy being cocky and full of himself, but reign that stuff in when you're dealing with a vet like Dusty Rhodes. Standing up for yourself is good, virtually spitting in their faces is bad.
3) Dusty Rhodes could still kick his ass.

Going off Austin-style is one thing, but when you go so far as to insult the vets and clearly have no idea what you're talking about, that's when you go too far.

3) Dusty Rhodes could still kick his ass. Riggs is a well-trained MMA fighter. I seriously doubt that.
