So they can prolong the trial for what, the rest of Jeff Hardy's life? Because that's seriously what it looks like.
I should hire this guy, I wanna get away with stuff, too.

It's not really unusual for court cases to be continued over and over again, I don't want to get into details but I have been dealing with the same case for over a year and a half now.

WHY HARDY CASE WAS CONTINUED THIS TIME by Mike Johnson @ 12:06 PM on 4/20/2011 Today's scheduled hearing in the criminal case against former WWE and TNA champion Jeff Hardy was continued because Hardy's defense attorney asked the Judge for additional time in order for Hardy to be assessed for whether he needs treatment for drug dependency. According to North Carolina newspaper The Southern Pines Pilot, Becky Carlson, the district administrator for the 19-B J.D. Sentencing Services Program, is scheduled to assess Hardy. Since she has just taken on the case and would need to assess him as well as get a second opinion, that process has not yet been completed. Should Hardy's assessment turn up that he needs help for a drug dependency, it could lead to a plea deal that ends the criminal case against him. A hearing is now set for 6/27, according to the Pine report, which you can read by clicking here.

Stop getting this case continued. I mean, it isn't like Jeff has to worry about keeping TNA happy as they aren't bringing him back until after this whole mess.
Just serve your time Jeff and let us all move on.

He needs to go to rehab. Problem is he will never really go to rehab and get clean until he hits rock bottom which I don't think he has ever gotten close to due to WWE and TNA paying him so much. And yes rock bottom means he could die but that is how drug addiction works.
Prison will do nothing for him except maybe kill him.
Forcing him to rehab won't do much either. It might get him clean for a while but it is most likely he will fall off the wagon.

A little more info from ProWrestling.net: The Fayetteville Observer is reporting that Jeff Hardy did make an appearance in court today. His local attorney, James Van Camp, officially asked the court to consider Hardy for a Sentencing Services program, which works to create alternatives to serving prison time. In essence, Jeff would enter rehab as opposed to serving jail time if accepted under the program.
Sentencing Services administrator Becky Carlson said she had only conducted an initial review but felt that Hardy was "borderline" in need of entering a 28 day inpatient program. The case has been continued until June 1.Borderline? She obviously hasn't seen the Victory Road match. All joking aside, it has to be looked at as somewhat of a positive that Jeff is considering rehab.

Stop getting this case continued. I mean, it isn't like Jeff has to worry about keeping TNA happy as they aren't bringing him back until after this whole mess. Just serve your time Jeff and let us all move on. This is self-serving. If you want to move on, stop paying attention to it. Any good lawyer worth his mustard will get a case continued for the client if it means less chance of jail time, especially in drug cases since its not cut and dry every case. I don't care anymore what happens to Jeff. I've lost respect for him in almost every way. If he wants help, he can get it. If he doesn't, he'll pay the price.

That will do him no good. 28 days isn't long enough to get clean.
