Also just because hardy was reasonably out of it, there are hundreds if not thousands of reasons why he could have been off, including drinking(legal), and just staying up too late(also legal). But for either of those scenarios to be plausible you would have to believe that Jeff either drank before he came out for his match (which according to backstage reports noted that he showed up just fine when he arrived, there's little chance TNA would have let him go out to the ring if they thought he was buzzed. Not to mention it's hard to believe the guy could have driven to the Impact Zone if he had drank enough to disorient him like he was in the ring.) or just didn't get enough sleep. The former makes it very hard to hide that you are and the latter I'm sure somebody backstage would have been able to tell the difference. Those were just examples. No one really knows if he was drunk, high, tired, or even sick, (unless he told someone). It's impossible to pin down what happened with out some doubt. In law it's not illegal to be suspicious.

Ok, my apologies if this has been answered, but I just got finished watching the match and don't really feel like reading through 40 pages to try to figure out what happened. I just heard about this, and watched the ME. What I noticed was: 1) Hardy came out, stumbling from pretty much the second he walked out to when he got into the ring, up to and including tripping over the stairs. 2) Apparently, Hardy's behavior continued even during Sting's intro, and got to the point where the ref had to give the "X" sign. 3) Bischoff comes out, says something off-mic to hardy, and then attempts to cover this up by cutting a promo changing the match to a no DQ. He then walks over to Sting, says something off mic again, then tells sting to deck him to end the promo. 4) The "match" begins. Sting, already looking incredibly pissed, hits a stiff death drop and holds Jeff down on the mat while the ref counts 3. Jeff gets up and still has no idea what's going on. Sting seems to be getting more pissed by the second. 5) Sting walks up the ramp and repeatedly says "I Agree" to the (justified) "Bullshit" chants. {Spoiler}And from what I've read, he's been written off Impact, and the promo implies that he's been written out permanently Is this correct?

Well according to TNAHeadlines on Twitter, they say a "key TNA insider" says that TNA has made a decision on Hardy's status with the company, and could announce it to the public soon. How valid the story is I don't know, but there ya go

Dave Meltzer elaborated on this story a bit: He showed up at the arena and was fine, well by Jeff standards anyway, and was in a decent condition when him and Sting put their match together around an hour before. But then went away and did whatever it was he did and showed up like that minutes before. If they'd have a few hours they would have came up with something else, but didn't so just sent him out there.
Of course, even in a few seconds, it shouldn't have been hard to figure out NOT to send Hardy out there and put someone else in, but they don't think quickly on their feet.

And Dave also said they'll probably be brining him back at some point as a face. They know his trial won't be over by then, and think there's about a 1% he'll go to rehab though.

If this is true, then TNA deserves all the ripping they'd get. Yes, by all means keep Jeff Hardy with his history, and showing up to a main event of a ppv in no condition to perform. If that's true and they do bring him back, f*** you TNA. And you'd have to wonder how many people would demand their release, if TNA were to do that.

If they stayed through all the crap that company has pulled, i don't think them bringing Jeff back will be the thing that pushed them over the edge. If, and this is an extremely large if, Jeff completed a rehab program I would be okay with bringing him back in some capacity (though he should be nowhere near the main event). But I wouldn't hold my breath for that.

The only acceptable options here are for them to fire Jeff or send him to rehab. I don't see how they could possibly be deserving of support otherwise; keeping him on without getting him clean puts all their other performers in jeopardy when they're in the ring with him. I appreciate that he has a fanbase, but really, it's not worth it.

As I'm sure you know, Vince has a hard-on for anything that could even remotely give him the slightest hint of mainstream publicity. It's why Snooki is in a match at Wrestlemania. It's why Otunga still remains employed. Similarly, the powers-that-be in TNA have a hard-on for any WWE cast-off with even the slightest hint of popularity, hoping that maybe, just maybe, this cast-off will be the guy that "changes the face of wrestling forever!" even though the last 900,000,000,000 guys they've signed, many of which were more popular than Jeff Hardy could ever dream of, didn't make a god damned dent in the ratings. It's like the gambling addict.....maybe if they put just one more dollar into the slot, they'll finally hit the jackpot!
