What's been reported: - Jeff was impaired at last night's PPV and Eric Bischoff or Sting make an audible to end the match in less than 2 minutes.
- TNA has sent Jeff home from this week's Impact tapings so barring backstage stuff he will not be on TV for at least 3 weeks to a month.
- All that has come out from Jeff is a tweet saying, "things are op".
Please do not take shots at your fellow posters or take criticisms of Jeff and/or TNA too far.

But how do you take Jeff out of the equation, with Bischoff/Hogan in power? If Jeff gets laid out in the back, maybe by Fourtune or someone with a vested interest in taking down Immortal, why would Bischoff give his spot to RVD/Anderson? He'd either call off the match entirely which would be an even bigger outrage, or have to put someone else from Immortal in the spot. Maybe Matt, but he already had a match that night. Otherwise, who? Gunner? Murphy? HOGAN?! Well have the "Network" call and say they want something that will draw in ratings so the title match has to take place RVD & Anderson have to face Sting if Jeff can't. You can explain it as the Network is getting a cut of the PPV buyrae, it thinks people will want their money back if the title match doesn't deliver. I dunno, I'd have a hard time buying that Spike gets a cut of the PPV revenue when it's not shown on their network. I thought of that too, but remembered it was a PPV so the Network is kind of thrown out the window. Plus, like Mikey said, it all depends on timing and when they realized this was an issue. With Bischoff coming out pre-match and apparently giving out orders right there on the fly, it looks like nobody realized it until the ring entrances had already happened. At that point... the damage has already been started.

Guessing they'll write him out by Bischoff saying his PPV performance proved he's not worthy of being Immortal's chosen one or whatever.
Don't know how they'd push as the top heel in his place, though. TNA Champion Cow Blood?

Well the Network would care in the booking because they are footing the bill besides getting a cut of the gross or net. Or more exactly that is why Bischoff would, kayfabe, bow to their wants.
See booking wise this could easily have been taken care of, if it isn't a work of course.

After all the PPV ended like 22 minutes early.

But even so, it still looks like all those decisions were made right there on the fly in a matter of seconds/minutes. It's hard to make a major booking call like that that fast.
Not to mention, I'm getting the vibe that Anderson is going to be our next champion, and that he'll come in with a vengeance and win the title once he finally (FINALLY!) gets his rematch. That's something I'll bet they're building towards, maybe for Lockdown, and can't throw away his title shot on a meaningless Sting retain.

to the person who said who would you of put in jeffs place.
Im not saying this would of made sense, but honestly i'd put in either jarret, angle,aj,a returning abyss. I know it would screw some things up but at that point all id care about would be giving the fans a good match cause everythings gone to hell.

My take is that there is about a 0% chance of this being a work. I watched it twice because the first time I was in utter disbelief. The things that stand out for me the most are the worthless no disqualification stip, Sting essentially forcing Hardy to lock up and then refusing to let Hardy kick out of the pin. That was surreal to me, I don't know that I've ever seen that. Plus, afterwards, Sting is visibly upset.
I think someone else brought up a really good point that all in all Hardy is lucky he pulled this on Sting and not somebody else that would have just beat the piss out of him. IMO, Sting deserves all the credit in the world for handling this the way he did. Very classy.
And no matter how you slice it, this absolutely makes TNA look bad. Even if we give them ultimate benefit of the doubt (which I don't think is necessary) and say that Hardy was perfectly fine up until he got in the ring, there is still no reason at all to allow your fans to get hosed like that. There was still 20+ minutes in the show, somebody could have challenged Sting for the title for 5 minutes or something. Do that and it seems like TNA tried doing the right thing and Hardy was just a giant douche. Instead, TNA looks miserable.

And you and I are allowed to make on-the-fly booking calls like that in a minute and it doesn't matter how good or bad they are, cause it's just internet armchair booking. When they do it, it has long-lasting, far-reaching implications to the buildup of things they're working towards. Having Sting go out and do damage control and squash him was the only way to accomplish that without A) putting anyone in danger and B) messing up future plans.

No no, putting Jeff Hardy out there in no condition was, without question, the wrong thing to do. Have Sting wrestle friggin Orlando Jordan for all I care. Just do not, ever, send a guy out to the ring impaired, period, end of story. Screw future plans, he wasn't fit to be out there. When asked about armchair booking, everyone is trying to find the most logical thing to do. However, everything was a better idea then having Jeff go out there.

If we replaced Jeff Hardy with Daniel Bryan, we already would have been on thread number eight.
Just sayin'.

TNA should have sent Flair out to challenge Sting after the Jeff debacle. Sting and Flair can improvise a quick match, they're both over and they have a legendary feud to play off of for 10 minutes or so.
