Felt absolutely nothing here in Ali...eh, you've never heard of it...just outside Pittsburgh, PA. Were you about to say Aliquippa? Honestly, there are parts of that place *cough*downtown*cough* that already look like a natural disaster hit it. Yes, I was about to say Aliquippa. And yeah, downtown looks terrible. Except for one coffee shop, that place is okay.

I slept through, but was woken up by a barrage of phone calls. I was woken me up for no reason at all, I've felt worse than this.

I felt it and I'm in Atlanta.
My desk was shaking and I thought it was our Washer because it usually shakes the whole house, but nope.

I'm on Long Beach Island at the Jersey shore, and looked up at a shaking wall decoration thinking "Huh, well, that shouldn't be doing that."
Interesting science I just heard on this: apparently any earthquake will feel stronger and have bigger, wider reaching tremors on the East Coast than an equally strong one will have in the West. The reason? Geologically, the earth here is older and more solid, while in the West its more like "shaking a bowl of jello".

Nothing here in Michigan, but that's usually the case. The only time I recall of people here feeling aftershocks was when there was the earthquake in Illinois a few years back. Apparently it was felt in the Upper Peninsula, but I didn't feel a thing. Then again, that was at like 6:30 in the morning.

All buildings at American University have been closed. I'm supposed to move down there in 2 days and returning students can move as soon as tomorrow.
Have to wonder if that will be moved now.

Here in downtown DC we felt it. I was on the 6th floor, needless to say I elbowed a few people on the way out, including a 64 year old woman.

I'm on the fifth floor of an office building in Clarksburg, WV. Whole building swayed. Most bizarre feeling I've ever had. Probalby wouldn't mean anything to someone out West, but it's pretty much ruined our productivity for the rest of the day.

No, but seriously, I hope everybody's ok. Samoa Joe's right though. LA had like a 5.8 quake like 11 years ago real early in the morning and I slept through it.

I felt it.
But then again, I live 50ish miles away from the reported epicenter.
Nothing's damaged and I'm fine, but DAMN I am freaked out.

Nothing here in Alabama land. If there were any signs than they were so small that I slept through them.

I was in the basement of my house; didn't feel a thing. Will probably head outside later just in case.

Again, though, its interesting to read how equivalent quakes will have much more of an effect on this coast than out west, due to the nature of the ground. 5.8 here feels a lot stronger. Granted, yes, where I was it wasn't anything big, just 5-7 seconds of rattling, so any West Coaster wouldn't have minded a thing. Still, we still get to laugh at you guys any time you see snow, or a thermometer dropping below 50 F.
