I would really recommend practicing a couple of times, just to at least get the basics down. You could also request a coach to help you out. I was terrified to play online for a while because I thought everyone was super hardcore about the gameplay. There are hardcores out there, but for the most part people are alright.

I just got a free copy myself through an AMD promotion. The site was meant for Brazilian users, but Google Translate got me around that hurdle Very fun game, BTW. Absolutely beautiful with DX11 and everything set at Ultra. Shame you can't enjoy it. I absolutely hate GFWL and was disappointed upon installing Dirt 3 to find out that it was required, but hey, free is free. Oh, and there's a new Humble Indie Bundle available. Name your own price for five Indie games with the proceeds going to the developers, charity, or the people who organize the bundle (you can split it between the groups as well). All games are DRM-free, but you can activate them on Steam if you'd like. The games: Crayon Physics DeluxeVVVVVVAnd Yet It MovesCogsHammerfight

I'm tempted to pick up the humble bundle again, but I think I've played all of 2 or 3 games out of the first three bundles.
EDIT: Just saw that VVVVVVV is on there. BUY.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines is on sale for $5. This game never goes on sale, so if you're interested, get it now. There are unofficial patches that fix a lot of bugs and restore unused content, so I'd recommend looking into those on the Steam Forum. I've heard such great things about this game but never bought it because it was always full price. Might be time to finally change that.

I have a question. I was in EB Games today and saw a copy of Portal 2 for PC/Mac. I'm considering trading my Xbox version for the Mac version and was wondering, if I buy the game from EB Games does the game come on a CD-Rom and I just download the game from that or does the game just come with a code and I use that to download from steam? Because I don't want to download from the internet because my net is pretty crappy atm.

It could be like Half Life 2, where you installed it but you had to activate it on steam to get it to work.

The Humble Indie Bundle 3 now is giving away 11 full games, if you buy the bundle for $5 or more. Those who previously bought the bundle get these 6 new games completely free.
The new games are last year's Humble Indie Bundle 2's 5 games plus Steel Storm.
That brings this year's bundle's total list of games to:
- Crayon Physics Deluxe. - Cogs - VVVVVV - Hammerfight - And Yet It Moves - Steel Storm - Braid - Cortex Command - Machinarium - Osmos - Revenge of the Titans
So if you have $5 to spare, you'd be a fool to pass this up.

They also threw in a free trial for Minecraft that's good until August 14th. Such a good deal that I decided to throw another $5 their way. Machinarium and Braid alone would make this a terrific buy.
Also, just noticed Limbo is finally available on Steam. Considered one of the best games of 2010. Played the demo and I just love the atmosphere and art style. Costs only $10, but I plan on waiting until the next Steam sale to get it for under $5 (Yeah, I'm a cheapo).

The thing I love the most about the Humble Indie Bundle 3 is all of the games on it are Mac compatible, so now I have games I can actually play on my MacBook. I mean I know Valve's games work on Mac now, but my MacBook is from 2007, meaning it is lucky to play any of Valve's games on even their lowest settings. I honestly do most of my PC gaming on my Dell laptop, but hey, now I can also game on my Mac.
