Speaking of the commercials I hated that teacher, doctor or whatever that was that kept advertising this.

Nick, I normally like you, but this kind of stuff makes you look like a whiny bitch, "Oh those mean film critics totally took a crap all over my first major leading role, which I also happened to have written the script for as well, and no one came to saw my film even after I had my friend Peter Dante scream at them over and over again in the commercials for this film! Screw you guys, I'm taking my ball and going home! *hmph*"

I've got an extra pacifier sitting around if Mr. Swardson would like it.

I agree that they didn't make the movie for critics. What he failed to mention was that they apparently didn't make the movie for anyone else either.

My friends saw it opening night and that it was the worst movie they have ever seen. And they reviewed The Smurfs right before

A short list of things you Can't do....then Review Bucky Larson
- Review ANY other "Better" Movie.....this includes: Xanadu, Ishtar, Interior Semiotics (Dear LORD don't Google it), A Serbian Film
- Continue to have Higher Brain Function (Before to give you a reason TO watch it, and as a Side-effect OF watching it)
- Have A Future/Will to live (You've (hopefully) CHOSEN to Watch Bucky Larson......this is considered in most psychiatric circles as enough to involentarily commit someone as a danger to themselves)

i actually get what he's trying to say. I'm confident that the movie was still horrendus, but I can see that the critics were going to the film with the mentaltiy that it would suck, and not giving it the 'fair shake" that Swardson is trying to explain

Horror movies, low brow comedies, comic book movies, or anything not considered "Culturally enriching".....y'know, like Woody Allen making movies where he scores with hot actresses, and then spends the rest of the movie whining about it.....is looked down upon by most mainstream critics. Heck, even if it's a GOOD MOVIE, and they're forced to write nice things about, they take such a condescending position, as if you almost can see the sneer on their faces by having to write something positive about, let's say, a slasher movie. Owen Gilberman from ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY is a perfect example of this.

I was thinking about this movie for some odd reason today. I know a Blu-Ray/DVD release is inevitable, but does anyone else think that they shouldn't bother? I mean, the movie made hardly anything at the theater, and I can't imagine too many people that saw it legitimately enjoying it. At this point, wouldn't a Blu-Ray/DVD release just be wasting money for packaging/advertising and shelf space at retaliers?

It must be made available on DVD/Blu. Much like the lone survivor of a slaughter, or perhaps even historical Nazi Documents or Nuclear Weapons....it MUST exist. Everyone should own it really....as a warning to future generations.

I normally like Nick Swardson, but someone seems to be very butthurt about this. Same here. I like Nick but between Bucky Larson seeing the light of day and this, he's not coming off very well. So to have a better comparison, someone needs to review Freddy Got Fingered then review Bucky Larson? {Spoiler}Freddy wins.

It's your job to make people psyched to see your movie, to entice them to go and see it. If you fail to do that then you have nobody to blame but yourself and the people you hired to try and convince us to come see it.
This was the first movie that the guy was featured in as a star. Take this failure, learn from it, and try and do better next time... if you even have a next time.
