THE RESULTS ARE IN! A lot was riding on this round, the transition round into our first elimination. The use of star power proved to provide quite a twist and a lot of head-scratching after analyzing the results as to how each contestant might need to do in the upcoming Round 3 in order to avoid the Bottom 3. Here were the contestants who opted for Star Power this round: {Spoiler}Junkenstein - Kingpin Funk(andlodi)Rulz – Tom & Jerry Z-A – Seinfeld DramaGuyCJM – Back to the Future Big Bad Brad – Dragonball Z J – Spy vs. Spy Bergman - Rocky vs. Drago This means that all remaining contestants will automatically get the Star Power double-point boost for next round. More on that following results… So we begin with Junkenstein…You chose the longstanding rivalry from the film Kingpin. You secured a 2nd place finish after Round 1. In this round, you garnered a total of 42 points, as compared to the 52 points from Round 1. With Star Power ignited, your combined total is 136 points which means … {Spoiler}YOU ARE STILL GAME RUNNER-UP HEADING INTO ROUND 3! Let’s now address FunkRulz. You had a tough start in Round 1, finishing at the bottom for that particular round. This round, however, you chose the famous Tom and Jerry feud, which earned you a total of 48 points, QUADRULPLING your score from the 1st round! Your 48 points was the 2nd highest score of the entire round. Added to that was STAR POWER, which means that FunkRulz has climbed the leaderboard for a new total of 108 points! ***FunkRulz unlocks Productive Producer achievement*** [/Xbox360] And finally, last round we had two contestants with two 1st place votes a piece. This round, another set of contestants had two 1st place votes a piece yet again! But wait … one of those two got a little greedy … Even though no Star Power was used, with a total of 66 points for the round (the new high mark out of both Rounds 1 and 2), and a total of 118 points, the contestant earning THREE 1st place votes in this round choosing ROCKY VERSUS DRAGO from Rocky IV … {Spoiler}BERGMAN! I first through he acheived this without using Star Power up to this point and was still sitting comfortably in 4th Place in the standings for Rounds 1 and 2 combined. After reviewing the FIRST PM he sent, Star Power has now been noted and now we have BERGMAN AS THE GAME LEADER! Our other contestant racking up two 1st Place votes for the round was the most polarizing pick of the round. This player chose Dragonball Z’s Goku vs. Vegeta feud. However, this “iffy” pick also was tainted with a three other less enthusiastic responses. With 45 points this round … {Spoiler}The Big Bad Brad. HOWEVER, with Star Power, this combined total has you in THIRD PLACE overall up to this point, just on the heels of Junkenstein! Congratulations. Below are the Round 2 results and the overall leaders up to this point. {Spoiler} Round 3, the last one before our first head-to-head-to-head elimination among the Bottom Three will be posted by the end of the night! Great job, contestants! {Spoiler}Michael Hayden and Doc Sivana will get to participate in Round 3 if they show up. The bottom 3 following next round (which includes Rounds 1, 2, and 3 totals) will then compete in a head-to-head-to-head elimination challenge to see who our first eliminated competitor will be. If either or both of our two no-shows do not show up, then the bottom three that remain from that group will still meet in the first head-to-head-to-head.

Pegasus, would you like to explain why I didn't get my Star Power Boost that I asked for in my PM?

Pegasus, would you like to explain why I didn't get my Star Power Boost that I asked for in my PM? Because you're a horrible person? Or ... because I made a mistake and am a bad host. (ha, you know I'm just kidding) I looked back and just didn't see your Star Power note. I looked at the "corrected link" PM you sent me. When I checked my Outbox, sure enough, I didn't note the Star Power in that either when I sent you confirmation about the pick. It was an oversight on my part. Sorry about that. I was just looking at your "corrected link" PM. The change is now noted. Thanks for the heads up.

Aw, come on...Rocky and Drago only fought once! At best, this is the third best "rivalry" of the Rocky films. Mario and Bowser have been duking it out for decades across multiple gaming platforms and genres, from everything from tennis to go-kart racing, in the most recognizable video game franchise ever!

Interesting round glad I used star power, I didn't know we could use Wrestling picks because of the F.A.N. forum rules but oh well not that I would of used a wrestling pick anyway.
The reason I picked Goku VS Vegeta is because I'm probably one of the biggest DBZ marks on this forum and I just had to see how well it would fair.
I had another pick in mind that I was going to use which was Batman VS The Joker which I believed at the time I sent it in it would of done better since I doubt there were probably not as many DBZ fans on here as me but I just had to know how well Goku VS Vegeta would do, if I didn't go with it it would of been eating at me and I would of asked myself what if? So I had to be a risk taker and go with Goku VS Vegeta and with Star Power I ended up in 2nd place so not bad.
As I said earlier I truly believe in my heart that my pick (Goku VS Vegeta) is the best rivilary ever but again I'm a huge DBZ mark and that is my opinion and everybody has different opinions.

I'm on a bigggggg Batman kick right now. Tough break, but you still did good.

Thank you sir, just wanted to pad my lead and virtually guarantee a top 4 at the next interval. Also, it's a sweet double reference Stinger, as it's also all the Cold War animosity and the showcase of differences between the nations in the clip, also it's the greatest montage ever and I knew it was probably getting used, so I'll beat everyone to the punch.

Aw, come on...Rocky and Drago only fought once! At best, this is the third best "rivalry" of the Rocky films. (Just to clarify, this ribbing is good-natured.) For me, this feud was definitely the most intense of all. I mean.... Drago killed Creed! Plus it gave us "I must break you". It may have only lasted one film, but that my friends was a blood-feud.

Brad you made a wise choice. When the category was announced my first thought was Goku vs. Vegeta and if someone used it there was no way anything else was getting my nod for #1. In my mind from the fights to the stories to the alliances and it all coming full circle, it's the best feud from anything I've ever seen.

Thank you I agree that feud really lasted the entire series I compare it to Macho Man/Hulk Hogan feud heres why it seemed they always feuded through out their careers even when they were allies you could tell they were rivals and even after its all over Macho still threw out challenges to Hulk just like Vegeata throwing out challenges to Goku. The only reason I was hesitant is because I wasn't sure if the judges would be DBZ fans and appreciate that feud for what it was.

[glow=gray,2,300]WELCOME TO ROUND FOUR![/glow]ANIMATION DOMINATIONThis is a MEDIUM-SPECIFIC round. Choices must come from an animated TV show, or an animated clip from a TV show.Contestants, your task is select any single scene from a cartoon/animated series and submit it. No full episodes please. No series of clips. No montages. One scene and one scene only that stands out all on its own. If you have a questions about what constitutes a single scene, you can always submit it and/or ask via PM. Again, for the sake of creativity and originality, we ask that you avoid the TV shows that have already been used thus far in the game. This has been violated once already in a previous round. This is the World Series of Pop Culture, so show that you have a little more range than a second clip of Bugs Bunny and Yosemite Sam, for example. Each round's picks are featured in the ORIGINAL POST of the thread. You submit your picks to pegasuswarrior and Cageking via PM (both of us just in case one of us were to go missing in action for an annoying period of time so that the other one could pick up the slack). We'll sort it out, send it to the judges, and all that. Please submit your picks in the following format: Title of TV Show Ex: Looney Tunes ALSO, when you send your PMs, please include the actual web address link of the pick you choose. This would reduce my management time 10 minutes or so, no joke. You can still embed the videos, but copying and pasting a link in there definitely helps me out. As always, if you have a question, just ask. Please get these in ASAP, but definitely no later than Tuesday. And if you're wondering whether or not you've been eliminated, well just submit your pick anyway, Bottom 3. This will ultimately save time in the end if you go ahead and send in a choice anyway. We'll have the elimination posted soon enough.

Fun round 2 guys; Star Power really threw a monkey wrench into everything, as it should . I have the feeling that round 3's going to be a mine field. As for the rationale behind some of my judging: Goku/Vegeta took the top for me because you have two different sides of the same coin, expressing what being a Saiyan can mean. You have Goku, a simple man with a family and a host of friends that just wants to become a better fighter; the fight is what is most important to him but he fights without hatred, without a need for revenge, just to grow. Then you have Vegeta, the Prince of Saiyans, who despises that a commoner like Goku, an idiot living on a backwater planet in the middle of nowhere, could prove to be mightier than him, to attain the status of being a Super Saiyan before he did, for reasons that would very well disgust Vegeta. And yet, Goku and Vegeta reach a compromise as the franchise evolves, not being friends necessarily, but rivals that gain each others respect. I enjoyed that idea immensely. You get the sense that, yes, Vegeta isn't blowing up planets anymore but there's still a battle that will occur between them before all is said and done. I also voted highly for Rocky/Drago and not necessarily because of Apollo's death. Apollo's death is the fuse that starts the fight but I think that the clash between two such strong opposites is what really propels the rivalry. You have Rocky, who's getting older, his career all but over, who rose from a wannabe boxer who had to work for criminals to make a decent living who through pure heart defeated the greatest boxer of his time and had to learn to be a true boxer, a true athlete vs. a man that, much like a devastating weapon, was developed by a entire country, a man designed through drugs, multi-million dollar workout equipment, computers, etc, to become a shining example of what man could be, emblematic of a radical way of thinking. Rocky shouldn't win, he shouldn't be able to defeat a force such as Drago, and yet, as a man, as a man that wants to win, a man who wants to avenge his best friend, he triumphs, even gaining the support of people who would be his enemies, his triumph even transforming Drago.

I couldn't have put it any better. Though I have to add the music in the clip provided is just awe-inspiring. I'm a huge comic book fan. I was honestly expecting someone to submit a Batman/Joker, or Superman/Lex, or Aquaman/Black Manta. Y'know, something.

Again, I didn't vote, but I thought the Back to the Future clip and choice was very much outside-the-box thinking. What a fun fun clip.
Spy vs. Spy was one I marked out for IMMENSELY! I love choices that are the ones less likely BUT they are ones that can still stand their grounds against the totally obvious ones. To me, that's what gives them a little bit of an edge. Obviously, it can be high risk, little reward, but when you hit something that's "Ohhh, I didn't think of that!" and stand your ground with it, I think you deserve that recognition.
With that said, Mario vs. Bowser is probably a pick that people could see being a pick for this category, but the clip itself showed us something that was outside of what would be expected. For that, again, I LOVED that pick.
It's not JUST the choice you make ... it's the CONTEXT and the CLIP itself that helps make the moment for me.
This competition has already had so many great picks. And the whole nature of the competition is evident in the first two round as far as I'm concerned: seeing what everyone digs and taking a trip down nostalgia lane together. It's like the Pop Culture Awareness thread moreso than just a fight to the death of who will survive from round to round. I've loved these picks so far.

Agree 100% with this. When I saw the pick I instantly loved it because there's no way I would have thought of it. It was my choice for most outside-the-box pick. I really REALLY wanted to rank it higher, but there was so much stiff competition. I definitely want to give it some special recognition though.

Ok pick in for this round and I think it might just score higher than last round. But I'm prepared for my typical crash out in the middle rounds, so good to get everyone awesome out of the box early.
