It was a mistake, a bad mistake but that's all. Should Miz lose his job? No, of course not. If this had been Nattie Neidhart or some other beloved IWC darling botching and injuring someone there would have been ton's of whiteknighting and guys insisting that she doesnt lose to deserve her job. When it's the Miz, who the IWC no longer loves, its fine to demand for him to lose his job. Owen Hart almost paralyzed the brightest up and coming (at that point) star WWF had in Stone Cold. He didn't get fired. I agree 100%. Accidents happen. Learn from them and move on. Unless it's Miz. Then fire him, 'cause Miz.

Ah, he made a Miz-take. All this FCW/fired talk is a tad OTT if you ask me.

Ah, he made a Miz-take. All this FCW/fired talk is a tad OTT if you ask me. It was a pretty bad mistake. The last guy who screwed up like that was Sim Snuka not catching Taker. And hell, he at least got in Taker's way and took some of the force of impact. Miz looks like his reaction was "Oh well better move outta the way!" That's a really dangerous attitude to have, even if it was just an instinctual reaction. He doesn't deserve to be fired for this, but he deserved the dressing down he got from HHH. Hopefully he'll also get a visit from "Wrestlers Court", too. I wouldn't mind hearing about Taker and a few other veterans knocking him around a bit and forcing him to eat outside the locker room again. And if Truth is out of EC? Miz should be too. Dude shouldn't be paid that PPV paycheck when he injured someone. Throw in Swagger or something.

I've read through all 6 pages, and the case is clear. The Miz was reckless, and didn't even try to protect R-Truth from slamming the outside mat hard. Sure, it's easy to charge him as guilty, maybe even fire the guy. But i want you to close your eyes...are they closed? Picture R-Truth falling on the mat, his head slamming against the hard floor... Picture The Miz, with his somewhat weak attempt to support R-Truth from falling... Think about R-Truth, and his potential main event payday being taken from him due to injury. Think about The Miz, and having Triple H's giant nose in his face for the next 2-3 months while he jobs to Santino and Alex Riley. Now imagine The Miz was Daniel Bryan. I rest my case.

Except that D-Bry wouldn't screw up like that?! All people make mistakes. I consider Daniel Bryan to be at about the same skill level as Owen Hart. Did Owen Hart ever make any noteworthy mistakes in his career?

This right here proves that he did not move to the right.

Miz was only moving to the right after Truth was already out of reach... Seems more like a reflex action to sell the move. It's the camera movement and angle that exaggerates that movement a little and is messing up their actual positions. They were already not lined up properly when Truth went airborne. So is it the Miz being a little off to the right, or is Truth a little off to the left?

I don't see him moving to the right at all, I see him getting to his feet and going right because as he stood that was the way his body went because that is what happens naturally when you stand up with a left leading foot.
I do, however, see R-Truth jumping way too soon when surely it must have been obvious to him Miz wasn't up and in position yet?

I don't know whether to be confused or amazed that this thread's turning into a photo and video and picture examination ala the JFK assassination:
"There's Miz's body. Back and to the right, back and to the right, back and to the right, back into the right, back... and to the right."

See, I dont even see that he could have done that. Sure, he would have slowed Truth, but would probably and just as likely broken an arm trying to do it. This was a botched spot where both could have done something to help the other, and indeed themselves, more. However because Truth is currently funny, and Miz is a whipping boy for both the IWC and WWE, he gets the blame.

Looks to me like Miz stood up in a way that was taking him more towards the right and couldn't reposition himself to catch Truth. Maybe he expected Truth to do a different move and was caught off guard when he went for a straight flip over the ropes.

Not sure if it was worth the effort, but people see what they wanna see, I guess.

Exactly. He never moved his left leg to the right or anything. He was standing up and unfortunately it was with the right leg(taking his body in that direction) while Truth was coming more to the left side of his body. A timing issue...a slight timing issue but that's all it took
