That crowd was really disrespectful to Taker. It really pisses me off that what appeared to be a more adult crowd (though not as adult as last week's), gets the privilege of seeing Undertaker in what is possibly one of his last appearances, and gets to hear his first in ring promo in a year...and just shit's all over it by chanting "WHAT?" and screaming things at him like 'YOU SUCK" and "RETIRE".
Do I think it hurt Undertaker's feelings or something? No. But it embarrasses me as a wrestling fan. Even if it was only 1/4th of the audience that were acting like that, it makes everybody look bad. If it were my decision, I wouldn't run anymore shows in that area for a long time. From what I understand, they never sell out anyway.

This pissed me off more than anything stupid WWE has booked in the last year or so... You could see it in Taker's eyes, too, he was getting peeved. Seriously... how the hell did this carry over 10 f***ing years?

Who cares. Seriously, last time I checked being a douche and yelling "you suck, retire" is not prohibited. And as disrespectful as you may feel it is, after the show Taker went home to his mansion, smiled at his cars and Harleys, and banged his hot younger blonde wife. When you are a public figure in sports or entertainment or whatever, you KNOW damn well what comes with it...and being chanted at by idiots is part of the price you pay. I am 100% positive Taker went home that night, remarked to his pitbulls about the idiot audience, then slept on a big bed of money with his hot wife. I love this notion that rich people are cyborgs that are devoid of feelings. I'm.... not sure that's the implication. I think the point is that it's be ridiculous of him to be particularly upset about such a minor thing if the rest of his life is pretty good, and so we shouldn't get all huffy on his behalf. Which is a reasonable point. Though, the thing is, guys like HHH and Taker, at this point, they probably DO live entirely for being adored by crowds. It probably really does bug him more than it should that people weren't into it, especially since this is pretty much his entire year's work.

I love this notion that rich people are cyborgs that are devoid of feelings. It's not that they're devoid of feelings, but its hard to feel bad for someone's bruised ego when they are sitting on a pile of money while most of the people who added to that pile (the audience) are scrapping.

I really hate the notion in this thread that all the fans are "sheep" for getting involved in a chant they obviously enjoyed. It's like your saying "I don't hcant what, therefore i am superior to the rest of those mindless sheep." That pisses me off way more than a mega-star getting ONE bad reaction and it's the same ridiculous line of thought as "I cheer all the heels" and "I'm a true fan of Daniel Bryan because I watched his indy work."

That crowd was totally idiotic. You think that everyone should've learned by now that you don't say that stupid word to a legend like Undertaker.
''What?!'' chants are stupid as hell, but last night it was even more. There were even some idiots saying thinks like ''You Suck'' and ''Retire.'' Awful crowd in general,it seems.

His promo sucked. They did not start "whating" him at the beginning of his promo.

Perhaps it's time for WWE to make mention to live crowds that "What?" chants need to be stemmed. I know freedom and speech and all that but still...it's getting tired.

It's because Minnesota are a bunch of hill billies... Charming. I appreciate the label. God, I want to punch every single person that was chanting "WHAT?" at Taker last night. I don't care if I have to crisscross the entire state, those jackasses keep pissing on any chance I'll have to attend a major event. Between the Raw from 2010, the Tyson Raw, Bragging Rights, and now today...good Lord.

I'm not sure if it's as bad as when the crowd in Toronto did a Mexican Wave during his match with JBL. He was apparently really pissed off about that, might explain why they've not been back much for PPVs since.

"What?" is one of the chants that need to die in fire along with "you f***ed up" and "this is wrestling".

So is it safe to say they wont be going back there for awhile? Man, just imagine how they would've reacted if he took off his hood.

I don't care who the crowd is doing the "What!?" chant to. I just wish they would shut the f*** up. That shit got old 30 seconds after it became famous.
Lone exception: Stone Cold. Since he invented it, I'll give the crowd a pass for doing it to him.

I actually got a bit upset when they started chanting what. there's certain people you don't "what", and Taker is at the top of that list. There were also a couple people yelling "You Suck" at Taker. The hell was that all about? I know some fans are sick to death of him coming around every year for Mania, and his interviews do usually "suck" somewhat, especially the last couple of years. But, it's pretty disrespectful to a guy who's broken his body for the WWF over the last 20 years.

He was apparently really pissed off about that, might explain why they've not been back much for PPVs since. Much like his promo last night, that match was boring as all hell. If you paid good money for a ticket and are getting a subpar effort from the performers, you have every right to boo/comment on it. Remember a year or so ago, the match between Punk and Rey that got stopped in the middle for some blood? The crowd totally lost momentum, and then when it restarted, Punk just went all out to get them back into it? THAT'S what you do. You don't look all pissy and lose your train of thought in an already lifeless promo, legend or no.

His promo sucked. They did not start "whating" him at the beginning of his promo. There were people loudly saying "you suck!" and "retire!" before he really said much. And that seemed to throw him off, and the "what?" chants threw him off of his game even more until HHH came out. I was so annoyed and distracted by the chants that it was almost hard to watch.

If 'Taker is that thrown off by a rowdy crowd, then he's lost his touch. Dealing with a crowd like that is part of being a wrestler. When did 'Taker become this wrestler who no one should say 'boo' to? The guy's character is supposed to be a badass, yet he is shaken by a few maligned chants from the crowd? Come on....I know we all love the guy, but some of the posts here are just WAY too overprotective.

His promo was to slow for wrestling fans. Yes it was good dialogue, but a lot of wrestling fans are not that smart. His promo was to slow for that audience. It's been a year, he is still a good promo, just his promo skills were really rusty.
The audience paid, and can boo, cheer, and yell all they want.

I hate this mentality that certain people are above putting on a subpar bland performance. He's gotta do better than that, especially considering his limitations mean he's going to be talking for the next 6 weeks and not doing much else.
Maybe at this point, you know, maybe they just like Trips more?
