Apparently Jericho is one of these guys as well. Its the trendy thing now to become an endangered species.

Undertaker and Triple H have also mentioned they are part of this "breed." The Attitude era stars are going extinct.

I dont want to get my hopes up but a PPV of just The Dying Breed against the New Guys wouldn't be a bad idea.

It's fascinating to me that this entire Wrestlemania is more or less "Attitude vs. Brand Split," in the same way that Wrestlemania X8 was WWF vs. WCW.
The two wrestlers who were around for both eras are going at it in an all-or-nothing go-for-broke Hell in a Cell.
The biggest star of the current era is facing off with the last era's biggest star.
The current WWE champion is wrestling someone who was arguably his counterpart in the Attitude Era, as he establishes himself as The Man for WWE.
Cody Rhodes is on his way up, and making a point of Big Show's long and storied history in the promotion.
And this all coincides with John Cena being gradually dialed back as the number one star, in favor of CM Punk in the short term and possibly Zack Ryder in the long term.
The only announced match that doesn't follow this New vs. Old theme is Bryan vs. Sheamus, which is just a classic well-booked heel champion on the way to meeting his match.
Interesting.

How ironic that the ones around when they were WWF are going extinct. Maybe they need a fundraiser.

Wow, when you put it that way. it seems great. And if Kane and Ryder go at it at Mania. You can add that to the list.

I don't think Jericho was being that literal.

Dying breed = Jericho, Benoit, Guerrero etc... No one else. That's what I took from it. He was referring to those guys and Malenko, Saturn, etc. Different than Triple H who was talking about Attitude Era 'megastars' like himself (which is debatable), Taker, Austin, Rock, etc.

This is what I meant. Malenko is done 'in ring'. Jericho is all that is left. But as for your comments, scary thought and ... {Spoiler}

I don't think Jericho was being that literal. Considering he said he was "literally" part of the dying breed... ;D Seriously though, I didn't take it has him referring to himself in the same light as Taker and Trips, but more to his WCW peer group (Eddie, Benoit, Malenko, Saturn, etc).
