I'd love to see Taker make Cena tap.

I hope this is it for him. His time is past. That really isn't fair to others on the card if he only shows up once a year to wrestle at Wrestlemania in one of the main-events and bumping other guys off/down the card who deserve it because they pull their weight year round. Yep cause guys like big zeke and otunga put in the same amount of years to deserve the spot Takers in?

On second thought, let him continue to wrestle. Sting, Cena, Lesnar, Rock, Muta, Horowitz all need to happen at Mania.
I can't wait for him to hit the Flying Clothesline in a f***ing wheelchair!

Anyone complaining about him taking some young wrestler's spot doesn't know much about business. I can't be the only one getting real tired of hearing this line. About as tired I am of hearing lines about people 'taking a young wrestler's spot'.

I doubt Taker demands to have top spot every year at Mania. I don't think Ziggler was meant to face HHH and Taker swanned in and physically snatched his spot off Dolph. His schedule is probably what he's agreed with the board considering his physical condition is the best he can do. The guys been at the company for god knows how many years drawing millions of dollars. I think he's earned the right to have his big draw matches at Mania.

Screw the fairness of it, Taker IS Wrestlemania. It's better for him to show up once a year than never.

I can't be the only one getting real tired of hearing this line. About as tired I am of hearing lines about people 'taking a young wrestler's spot'. But not as tired as I am of people wanting him to lose to a young up and comer to "give him the rub" Yes I know wins and losses sadly don't matter anymore, but the streak does. Let him have it as a thank you for the 20+ years of loyalty.

He has the streak. Now he can go away so I don't have to relive this same storyline every single year.

Well, at least now they can do one more big WM match against John Cena before he really has to retire.

Personally speaking, I remember right before the HBK/Taker II match, I, as a HUGE HBK fan, was actually kind of glad he was probably going to hang it up. Sure I wanted a match with Punk (and Bryan, who hadn't signed yet) but I didn't want him to get to the point that he was spinning his wheels every week on RAW. Though Undertaker has made himself into more of a special attraction, I think someone bringing up the Minnesota crowd brings something else to the forefront.
First off, I thought that crowd was extremely disrespectful to 'Taker. No one should be giving him the "what" chant at this point. However, I think the new breed of fan, the fan that started their fandom around 1998 and after, are starting to turn on him. Sure one crowd is one crowd, and Minnesota might have a particular type of fan, but if the crowds today can barely go one week without having Cena or Orton on their screen for the majority of the show, I'm a little hesitant to believe that they're going to get into the Undertaker showing up once or twice a year at this point.
To us, 'Taker is a legend, who deserves everything he has, and should be handled with honor and dignity. However, I wouldn't put it past idiot fans to fall into a monkey see-monkey do act. What if the next crowd that 'Taker gives a promo for tries to be as disrespectful? And everytime you see 'Taker on TV, he is getting catcalled and whatnot?
Point being, I don't have faith in the current fanbase keeping 'Taker over, just because I don't think they have the respect for the business that we all had growing up, and maturing into more nuanced fans.
I'm curious to see how 'Taker and Vince will respond if the Minnesota crowd starts becoming the rule, and not the exception.

Personally I'd rather he hang it up now after this WM rather than try and go to WM30 and beyond. While I don't like to say it, I do agree. Undertaker should call it a career while he's in relatively good shape.

You guys clearly haven't been paying attention. They are building 2 undefeated streaks leading to
Undertaker vs David Otunga in a Wrestlemania Mock Trial.

Also lets not act as thought Taker is an old man the dude is about to be 47. That's not young but that isn't extremely old either. The guy also is only going to work one match a year for the last few years of his career. That's got to make his shelf life much longer. I think working only one balls out match a year Taker could do it till he is 50 or 51. Look at Sting in TNA the guy worked well into his 40's and early 50's and isn't a cripple. And Sting worked a full schedule.
Taker has 12 months to heal, get any nagging injuries healed with surgery, and mentally take a break. A guy in his mid to late 40's can pull it into high gear once a year. Taker isn't going to leave big paydays on the table, nor will Vince McMahon. They are gearing Takers last few years around just working one match a year which works for both parties.
Not doing Taker vs Cena is leaving a lot of money on the table. They at least will try to get Taker to keep it up till Mania 30.

Good for Undertaker. He deserves to work as long as he wants, and if it's only one match per year, so be it. He's earned it.

Taker vs Cena, with Cena going over and ending the Deadman's career. Just to see how many smarks react like this.
