I don't think no matter what happens that this will win the Gooker, solely because those who vote on it tend to prefer stupid minor things over major angles that drove off a cliff. For instance, for 2009 the stupidity of Orton / McMahon family and the fact that it just would not f***ing end was far, far worse than two minutes or so of already crappy Raws being taken up every week by Chavo and Hornswoggle. Victory Road this year may disagree with you

First, I think Hardy/Sting pretty much has the Gooker locked. I can't picture anything topping that unless the WWE intentionally tries to.
That said, i could easily see this being real. The Nash/Ace skit proves nothing. Remember, they spent the entire day a couple weeks ago building up a Nash/Punk match they knew wasn't going to happen. They could have very easily gone on with the Nash/Ace skit while negotiations over money were still going, but decided to drop the angle and release Nash the next day if they believed that negotiations would go nowhere.
I'm not the least bit surprised that the dirtsheets immediately pounced on this like vultures, claiming they have the "inside scoop". I actually hope he is legitimately released just so Meltzer and company can look like idiots again.
It could be fake. Fits in perfectly with the angle. I'm just not willing to write it off as either real or fake yet. There's compelling arguments on both sides.

Personally if Nash does get involved I expect him to attack Hunter. Trips resigns then Johnny Ace is promoted to COO.

Didn't he, according to HHH, "Not work here" in the first place?

Like Eddiesploitation, I really can't see much humor value in a (once very talented and loved) man's very public self-destruction. Also, between this, Punk's summer angle and the Divas article...welcome to the new era of Kayfabe, brother.

They didn't announce his signing. I don't know why they would announce his release unless it was for storyline purposes....

I love how it said that Nash got released on September 5th. Why couldn't they post this after Raw? Why wait til 2 days after the firing occured? My guess is that they didn't want to make it too obvious that this is a storyline.
EDIT: Usually, whenever WWE releases people, they get released on the day the headline gets posted. The "September 5th, 2011" line gave it away that this release probably won't be legit.

I'm thinking Trips will lose, then reveal himself to be the anonymous Raw GM and stick around.

So, I guess Kevin Nash is looking for WORK? I mean, it's going to be hard finding WORK in this market, but I'm sure things'll WORK out fine for him. I just hope he WORKs out and is able to WORK in wrestling again. {Spoiler}WORKWORKWORKWORKWORKWORKWORKWORKWORKWORKWORKWORKWORKWORKWORK

Nash said that Ace signed him to a contract.
Don't matter as this is all a work.

I thought they posted all the legitimate releases on the corporate site, but it seems that that isn't the case. They stopped doing that with I think Carlito's release. I thought that was only for Wellness related releases.

Yeah, really nothing TNA does should be gooker worthy, because it's meaningless. Unless you're going to give the entire company the gooker. To me it's either something world class mindbogglingly stupid or taking something that could concieveably work and driving it off a cliff. Like the Invasion, where people would basically be demanding you to take their money, if you did it right, and you find a way to screw it up.

Read this online...could be true.
As noted before, Kevin Nash's "release" that was announced earlier today is all part of what's happening on TV. The release was announced to play off the major deal that John Laurinaitis signed Nash to on RAW.
The reason for Nash's exit from the WWE storylines is because Nash has booked a movie role, likely the same one that he is dieting for. Word is that the people behind the movie didn't want to insure Nash for filming while he was working as a pro wrestler. Nash will likely stay gone until he is done filming the movie. No word yet if this will affect any of his independent dates.

Punk has HHH beat before Michael Rappaport distracts the ref, giving Parker Posey time to knock out Punk with the brass knucks.

First, I think Hardy/Sting pretty much has the Gooker locked. I can't picture anything topping that unless the WWE intentionally tries to. I was definitely gunning for Hardy/Sting along with most people - a few people said that somebody would have to do something really over the top to be able to beat Hardy/Sting. Then Matt Hardy came along. At this point a lot of people are suggesting "The Hardys in 2011" for Gooker, which I think might be decent.
