July 1, 1999 Disco Inferno turned down the idea of a program with Van Hammer. Actually kinda surprised to see this. With some of the off-the-wall ideas Disco had been trying to pitch, I could see him delving into some bizarre acid-trip feud with Hammer with ease.

The Observer confirms that Terri Power, who has appeared at ringside during Sable's recent TV matches, will debut in the WWF as Sable's sister and eventually turn on her for a feud.

Apparently the original finish in the Chamber of Horrors match at Havoc was to be One Man Gang losing the fall by being "electrocuted" by one of the special effects gimmicks. The electrocution wouldn't injure or kill Gang, but cause him to get amnesia and he would come back thinking he was Reverend Billy Bright and be a character babyface, but obviously none of this is going to happen.

So this week they turned about half the crew. Already taped are babyface turns by Sid Vicious, Brian Pillman and Maxx Payne. What appeared to be a heel turn by Erik Watts was taped and then once again forgotten about. Ron Simmons and Paul Roma are both in the midst of heel turns.

I noticed that I had a repeat last year so I'm gonna give you two now as a little bonus. January 5, 1990 WWF-Bound: Word is that both Billy Jack Haynes and Cowboy Bob Orton have signed on again with the WWF. Look for Orton to figure into Roddy Piper's life (again). January 6, 1994 Meltzer reports that Kwang, who had a terrible promo-clip air on the WWF syndies is Tazmaniac. He resembles Taz from what we could see. Ok, I've only read a few pages of this, but he just guesses all the time right? Then when none of the shit he says happens, "things fell through".

By the way, if something screwed up with Butch Reed, never fear. Vince was going to have a bleached blond black no matter what. If Butch had changed his mind, he'd already promised the spot for Rocky Johnson. At least Reed is tons better in the ring, but who wouldn't be?

Rumours are strong that the WWF is going to try to lure Jesse Ventura back into the fold.

A couple of angles were shot on the second and third night of television 10/27 in Terre Haute and 10/28 in Louisville. In Terre Haute, Razor Ramon and Undertaker had a shouting contest to set the stage for their post-Survivor Series marriage. Nailz issued a challenge to Ultimate Warrior to set up a series of main events that aren't about to turn house show business around. They began the Sensational Sherri turn when he wasn't around and Shawn Michaels made the anti-feminist remarks telling Sherri she should stay home where a woman should be. Bob Backlund atomic dropped Ramon out of the ring after he was abusing a jobber both the second and third night.

Some talk of bringing Wayne Bloom & Mike Enos in as a tag team doing a baseball player gimmick.

Shouting contest?
Can't imagine 1992 Undetaker raising his voice. Paul Bearer on the other hand vs. Razor - hilarious.
And The Beverleys / Destruction Crew as the Baseball Furies may have been cool. Or they team with a masked Jim Neidhart and repeatedly mention, "Who's on first."

As a way of pointing out that lots of former WWF wrestlers want to be "where the big boys play," WCW will be luring former WWF stars Rick Martel, Tito Santana, Sgt. Slaughter, and Iron Sheik out for the battle royal.

There will also be a change in the Orient Express tag team, as Akio Sato will be done as a wrestler as of Thursday's Survivor Series. Sato will become Titan's full-time Japanese rep and work as a liaison between SWS and WWF. The plan as of last week was to retain Pat Tanaka and pick a new partner for him, possibly the Great Kabuki.

That team would have been too awesome and overly deserved of a push to the top.
Instead we got Japanese JTTS Badd Company with Paul Diamond in a mask.

Andre the Giant will return around Christmas to have a series of bouts against Randy Savage in the cities where Bruno Sammartino's name means nothing (in other words, everywhere outside of the Northeast)
----------------
Now I know the matches were announced and on most shows it was said that Andre gave up his title shots and gave them to Steamboat until Andre officially turned heel but this is more of a what if the matches actually had happened.

Did you notice that there wasn't one mention of Sid Justice during the entire Survivor Series? Unless it's being done to take him "out of mind" to set up his getting involved as a "surprise" in the finish of the Savage-Roberts match that took place Tuesday night, then it looks like he's in for a major phase-down upon his return because they don't ignore key guys like that

I was busy last week so here's two about Wrestlemania 3 to fill in the gap from last week.
December 22, 1986
WM was originally going to take place in New York, Los Angeles and Toronto, however Harold Ballard, owner of Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto, wanted too big a cut so it'll either be in two sites, or they'll have to find a new third one.
December 29, 1986
The latest on Wrestlemania III is the show will eminate [sic] from two U.S. locations one of which will be the Los Angeles Sports Arena. The other will be in New York--most likely the Nassau Coliseum. Show starts at 4 p.m. Eastern time and 1 p.m. Pacific time (first time the show will actually air live in all time zones) on Sunday, March 29. There has been talk of a third location--London, England--but the logistics of trying something like that seem to make that unlikely. The main event will be Hulk Hogan defending the WWF title against new-heel Andre the Giant, who will be managed by Bobby Heenan. There will probably be some sort of climactic match between Randy Savage and Ricky Steamboat, probably ending in a title change. Perhaps they'll either hold or complete the tag team title tournament at this show. Roddy Piper vs Adrian Adonis and Harley Race vs Junkyard Dog are possible matches as well, although both will need heavy-duty stipulations to get "over." Actually Race-Dog won't get over no matter what. John Studd will return by then, probably as a babyface, so perhaps a meeting with King Kong Bundy? Or Kimala? It's probably futile to speculate because I'm sure they haven't decided on much aside from the top matches and a possible gimmick match (hopefully nothing will be as bad as involving football players or Mr. T--but to get the thing over to the mass media, celebrities are needed.) They are beginning to publicize that Danny Davis' "referee contract" expires at the end of March, which leads me to believe he'll referee the Andre-Hogan match, not wrestle as had been rumored (although he'll probably wind up as a heel in-ring manager or wrestler type after the show.)

The prime-time NBC Main Event will air live on 2/3 from Milwaukee, WI. I'll try and get a card by next week, but believe the main event will be Hulk Hogan & Randy Savage vs. Ted DiBiase & Andre the Giant and I guess that tells you more than you need to know about what is going to happen.

This one doesn't have a specific date but found it really interesting.
January 1984
The 1/23 MSG show has Iron Sheik vs Backlund, who will still be suffering from his neck injury and probably not regain the title. Even if he does, the interest the title change sparked will keep crowds up a while. I'm told MSG is also booked 2/20 which would be Backlund's six-year anniversary, so I'll assume he's to get a second rematch here. Slaughter, who should be a full-fledged baby face by the following MSG show in late March, will probably get into a series of bouts followed by Hogan for an early summer/late spring Shea Stadium show and the title change. With Hogan as champ, turn Andre the Giant into a villain and Shea Stadium won't be big enough to hold this promotion.

The latest reports coming my way are the Slaughter may make a deal with Gagne, or that he'll possibly be returning to the WWF after all.

With Hogan as champ, turn Andre the Giant into a villain and Shea Stadium won't be big enough to hold this promotion. As a kid circa 1985, it wasn't even conceivable to me as a fan that they could be headed for a Hogan/Andre showdown. Was it really this obvious to everyone so early on?
