I've thought from the moment it was announced that Bryan/Sheamus would open. I definitely wouldn't like to see the WWE title defended in the opening match, goes against every tradition there is.
Regarding The Rock, why SHOULDN'T he be given the time? Same with whatever Cena has to say or do leading up to it. This is one of the biggest (if not the biggest) match in WWE's history, it should be promoted as such.

Wouldn't be surprised if it's the WHC first, they don't even try to act like it's on the level of the WWE Title anymore. Wasn't on last years poster or DVD cover and probably won't be this year either.

"The following match is for the World Heavyweight Championship!! ...the contestants, already in the ring..." Nah, Bryan and Sheamus'll probably be the opening dark match for the second year in a row.

This is one of the biggest (if not the biggest) match in WWE's history, it should be promoted as such. Because enough build should have been established before the actual event. I'm not a big fan of promos at Wrestlemania, tbh. That time could be given to another match or to lengthen the others; at the very least it makes it easier on scheduling the rest of the event. It's the Rock and John Cena. At Wrestlemania, in Miami. It doesn't need anything else. Just show a couple of promo videos, show them warming up backstage, maybe some interaction with guys like Triple H or Foley and your fine.

F*** The Rock. He already had enough time for this year and last year with that diabolical opening promo at WrestleMania 27 when he got an entire crowd of men to simulate fellatio.

Rock opening promo would make sense. Give him a chance to address his home town crowd and get them pumped up

Rock opening promo would make sense. Give him a chance to address his home town crowd and get them pumped p A good opening match would accomplish the same thing. A backstage interview I wouldn't have a problem with. An in-ring promo segment? He'd better not.

I'd do the 12 man, then if anything needs to go down authority wise later in the show you can have one of them make the decision to show their newfound power.

Surprised so many people are against this. I love it. And I doubt Rock’s going to come out to the ring and cut a 15 minute promo for no reason like last year. I assume it just means he’ll have a backstage promo before his match which he’s always done before his WM matches. Fans in the arena would be pissed if they didn’t get that. They paid to see Rock and a big part of the Rock live experience is his singalong catchphrase promos. 7 matches seems too few, but if there is tuth in 30 minutes being set aside for three of four main events I have no problem with it. I'd rather have every match on the card than 10 matches listed and two bumped to dark match status. Plus it won't tire the crowd out as much, maybe they want people to be as loud as possible in every match? Exactly. If Rock-Cena, Taker-HHH and Punk-Jericho are all ****+ matches then this show will go down as one of the greatest WM’s ever. They deserve the time to make that happen. Those are the matches 99% of people are paying to see. My biggest probem with the last few WM’s has been the amount of crappy filler matches just for the sake of getting everyone on the show. I’d rather see a card with 3 great, epic matches and 3-4 decent midcard matches than a show with 9-10 matches and a bunch of them being rushed. The likes of Orton-Kane and Cody-Show only need 8-12 minutes each anyway. I don’t want to have to sit through 20 minute singles matches featuring Big Show and Kane.

I'm fully expecting a Survivor Series style promo from The Rock midway through the show.

Last year there were 8 matches and two of them combined were barely 5 minutes (and none of them went 30 minutes). 7 real matches is plenty. But if they go that way, I think they do have to start the show with one of world title matches or Taker/HHH. Some combination of Cena/Rock, the title matches, and Taker/HHH going back to back to back to close out the show might be too much.

Id be ok with something like Wrestlemania 18 or 19. Both were amazing promos.

I like it. Punk/Jericho getting more time is ALWAYS good in my opinion

lol @ the WHC match between the same guys who got bumped for Rock last year getting bumped again this year, for a higher stakes title to boot!
I'd guess that the opening match will be My Boy D-Bryan vs Sheamus, standard mid-card matches in the...well, middle, HHH/Taker towards the end, a bumper divas title match to let the crowd rest, the Punk/Jericho match, lots of Cena vs Rock hype, then the Rock/Cena match.

They set the precedent last year when they had the WHC curtain jerking the show. I dont think they'll go that route with Punk/Jericho. That seems to be a really bad idea. If the WHC match curtain jerks again, I'd be a little disappointed.
I also don't get the Rock backlash here. The show hasn't happened yet. Now, if he comes out and the show is clearly built around him with matches suffering because of it, I may think differently. If he's entertaining and the promos have meaning to them, then more power to him. I would also expect Cena to get time as well if this occurs. I'd rather watch Rock cut a promo than watch a match tacked on that I don't care about. I'd rather watch Rock cut a bad promo than say something like Cole/King. I also think that if this story is completely true and comes to pass, the onus falls on the WWE more than The Rock. If this happens, that says to me that the "powers that be" don't think the everyday roster is up to snuff.
Its incomparable to last year since he was the host last year and just about everything he did on the show was expected. This year he's got a match. I really doubt we're going to get lengthy segments of promo on Mania from anyone in a match.

I can't see the WWE title ever being the opener Elimination Chamber?

They should have the IC title match be the opener. Otherwise I don't see that one getting much heat. Bryan and Sheamus could also benefit from opening, but I hate when they start with a title match. Punk and Jericho should NOT open, it's a waste of the first match excitement.

People mad at the Rock like he books the shows. They could simply start up a feud for Santino so he can open the show up with a U.S. Title defense.

1. Rhodes/Show 2. Orton/Kane 3. Bryan/Sheamus 4. 12-man tag 5. Punk/Jericho 6. HHH/Taker 7. Rock/Cena This is how I would have done it. Also the possibility of a US title defense and/or a divas match involving Maria from Extra.

I think they need the divas on there somewhere to serve as a buffer between the top two matches, or the crowd is going to have nothing left by the time they get to the main.
