It just doesn't seem as noticeable or meaningful than the other storylines going on right now. I think Sheamus and Bryan could have a great match at WrestleMania, but I wish the E makes the build more interesting.

At this point, it's a case where Bryan should keep the belt, but Sheamus should win because the Royal Rumble needs it. So... Yeah, I say have Sheamus beat him at Mania then have Bryan win it back at the next PPV.

He seems like the 7th most important face in the company right now...Oh wait, he is. Tall, big guys, are built to be heels. He is so good in the ring, for his size, and has charisma.
Ryder, and Santino get bigger pops then him, every night. Book him as a monster heel, not a cowardly one.

He was pushed too quickly. He won the WWE title too soon instead of being built up over time. This is the era of rushed pushes.

The WWE seems to have fallen in love with Bryan and his advanced character. Furthermore also this Bryan/AJ storyline and it does seem like Sheamus vs Bryan has taken a backseat to that.
Unfortunately though this is against a guy who hasn't lost clean that I can remember since Summerslam in August last year who also works out with Triple H so that's really all that needs to be said about that.

Tall, big guys, are built to be heels. and Savage, Piper, Dibiase, and Roberts were infinitely more interesting than him.

The man has beaten just about everyone he's been in the ring with. Matter of fact, I can't remember the last time he's lost clean. He's fine. yea, beating random jobbers really adds to his character imo

His character isn't ready for a world title match at WM IMO. If only WWE had Jericho win the rumble instead of trying to swerve the smart fans - but then short terms interest is a lot better than long term development, right?

As much as I like Bryan, they may as well ditch the Royal Rumble if Sheamus loses at WM this year.

Then where would that have left them for a sixth man for the Elimination Chamber, though? Besides that, it makes more sense to give it someone young who still needs establishment to serve as the catalyst for a storyline than to use it to advance an already in motion one for someone who's probably two or three years away from retirement.

He's got momentum as far as crowd reactions go. His pops get louder every week. He doesn't have an interesting storyline going on but he's been tearing the house down in the ring ever since the Rumble.

Yep.
The sheamus face turn has been this weird, weird series of events. I mean from adopting the nickname the great white to his continual stories about ireland to him winning the rumble to him not being featured relevantly towards the build up to mania.
His push is at times forced yet it's also half assed. He wins every match he has quickly yet he does nothing of real substance.
It doesnt feel important. It feels like if hes champion after mania it's only short term. It doesn't have the feeling of something epic.
I also think it's sad that they'd end bryans run given how great he's been with the belt. Probably the best world title run in a long time.

Ugh, Sheamus. Boring, bland lower mid-card act that makes it to the main event with a superman gimmick. He tells corny jokes and doesn't take any opposition seriously, because he's gonna win anyway. The Irish Cena

Sheamus' entire WWE career has been one strange, strange run.
It's obvious the people in charge are rather taken with him (aside from Kevin Dunn, who apparently can't stand him), but they continually resort to lazy booking with him.
Just throwing a guy out there every week and having him do the same thing over and over again without giving him an opportunity to do anything else isn't going to work unless they're already at the level of a guy like The Undertaker.

I think he was more interesting as the big guy who was nevertheless a cowardly heel. He seemed deeper when he was running from the Nexus than he is now as the superface going into Wrestlemania.

It feels like they just decided to give this the same attention they're giving Orton vs. Kane. Remember, afterthought still requires thought.

Sheamus winning matches only matters if the matches are part of a story arc for his character, as right now he's just a huge ginger Irishman who boots people who are jobbers to the stars (or just plain jobbers).
I honestly feel that Bryan is winning at 'Mania, maintaining his heel reactions should be more of a priority than maintaining the genera-cheers of Sheamus at this point. Sheamus loses once at 'Mania then starts squashing jobbers again and he'll be fine reaction wise until there's an actual storyline/series of back and forth matches in place for him.
I like Sheamus in the ring and on the microphone but his stories have been awful lately, and his whole booking smells of 'no idea, we want this guy in the main event but we don't think we have the time to figure something decent out...just shove him against someone who's champion! Yeah!'

I thought that the cowardly heel was really not fitting. IT's hard to buy it when he looks like a guy who wants to kick ass.

Anyone else seeing parallels between Sheamus and Bobby Lashley? I mean, Sheamus is leaps and bounds above of him when it comes to charisma, but I can't help but feel like they're pushing him into the same rut that Lashley got stuck in. Big, fit guy who never loses to anyone isn't really a character with any substance.
