Let's say that the Streak was definitely going to be broken. Who would you rather it be broken by? Someone like Triple H, who's done pretty much everything except that, or a new generation superstar who might not be consistently pushed afterwards?

This might be the 30th "Streak ending debate" of the year so far!

No, because I have no confidence that WWE will build upon it constructively.
I'd rather they preserve the streak.

I'd like someone like Sheamus or Wade to end it. Someone who seems to be in it for the long haul and could use the rub. Maybe someone who hasn't debuted yet, but they'd prob need a year or two of build before it'd seem legit that they could do what HHH, HBK, and so many others couldnt

The problem with that is after having them break something as big a deal as the streak, then if you don't build them up as the best ever/amazing/unstoppable/great/megastar after that then it completely buries the streak, the guy himself and also everyone who ever lost to Taker at Mania all in one go.

If the Streak(a kayfabe "achievement" that is basically a story element, no matter how the fanbase has romanticized it) isn't used to make someone a MEGASTAR, it'll be a waste.

It's just as benificial to milk the hell out of an undefeated streak (regardless of its authenticity) as to give it to an rising star (who may waste it) x

It's a short term money maker. Building a NEW star off it is thinking long term, which is what pro wrestling should be about.

I wouldn't wish it on a new guy. It'd be a much bigger burden than it would be a help.

Some older, big star from his past - like HHH. I don't think beating an up and comer would propel anyone's career, I think the opposite would happen, everybody would resent the guy and he wouldn't be able to live up to unrealistic expectations of following through.

Great idea, I'll be sure to pitch the idea to my slaves in WWE Creative!

Why? I see plenty of people explain why it should be broken and who they think a certain person should break it, but I don't see many reasons as to why it shouldn't.

Should Andre have never lost his streak? Too many undertaker marks here.

Why? I see plenty of people explain why it should be broken and who they think a certain person should break it, but I don't see many reasons as to why it shouldn't. Because it's his "legacy". Not the 20+ years of loyal service and being one of the biggest names in the sport. A kayfabe winning streak that, if broken, will apparently invalidate the rest of his career is his legacy.
