I felt for the most part that the show really delivered in a big way.
Was it perfect? No. But I honestly velieve that enough went right for me to say it was worth paying for and watching live.

WHC match killed the crowed up till Triple H/Taker. Punk/Jericho was a wrestling clinic.
Cena/Rock went long. Rock did not have the conditioning to go that long, but it was good all things considered.

I thought it was great. I didn't even realize I had missed Sheamus/Bryan until the main event was getting ready to start. The crowd was really into HiaC, Jericho/Punk and Rock/Cena. Made it feel epic in my opinion. I could even tolerate the singing entrances.
But those palm trees man...screw those things.

Absolute garbage. The one redeeming match was Trips vs Undertaker, which was still extremely WCW (two knocked out referees? ugh) and not as good as their match last year.

Can I just say most of you should be happy. Because the newz about Rock getting a shit ton of time for backstage segments and interviews never came to fruition.

Decent if not spectacular.Awful first hour or so,didnt enjoy anything and was tempted to go to bed early (almost 2am in the UK by the time HITC came on).Glad i didnt as i loved Triple H vs Taker, great, brutal match, enjoyed the team long/laurnitis match, good CM Punk Jericho match and i liked Rock vs Cena, even if it didnt quite live up to all the hype and Rock looked blown up halfway through it.

I thought it was an "okay" show. Aside from the Bryan/Sheamus debacle, the divas match, the Brodus Clay segment, and the horrible rapping from MGK and Florida.
IMO, Rock/Cena was match of the night. The HIAC was second best. Punk/Jericho was good, but probably Punk's 3rd or 4th best match within the last year -- kind of a disappointment after all the hype.
Star Ratings:
Sheamus/Bryan: DUD Kane/Orton: * 1/2 Beth & Eve/Kelly & Maria: 1/2* Hell in a Cell: ***1/2 GM's Match: ** Punk/Jericho: *** Cena/Rock: ****

The Top 3 matches saved the show. Though I wish more of the crowd was into Jericho/Punk. Overall I would say it was much better than last years. (mostly because I didn't pay for it.)
As for the opener, Like most shitty things in the WWE I blame Kevin Dunn. This wasn't only insulting to Bryan but to Sheamus as well, who Dunn has had it in for in the past.

The matches were fine, but the segments for the matches weren't great. I mean we get an 18 second WHC match, but than we're forced to sit through promos, brodus clay, health slater comedy segment, three songs by two different bands, and of course the entrance themes. I just think it was overkill.

Went to see this at the theater, I share the same opinion as a lot of other posters. The first hour nearly killed the show Rhodes/Big Show should have been the 18 second squash and Bryan/Sheamus the competitive match. Kane/Orton would have been better if had some kind of No Holds Barred stipulation they could have a fun brawl and not overshadowed the Hell in a Cell match.
At least the aforementioned HITC match and Punk/Jericho more then made up for the tepidness of hour 1, the main event was good but sadly not "Once in a lifetime", good and the way it ended with Rock going over seems to point to the fact that next year we'll see a match that is "Twice in a lifetime."
So to use that old chestnut "Thumbs in the middle, leaning towards up" just skip the first 3 matches.

After having watched it, I did think it was a bit disappointing. Thats not to say it wasn't good, but it wasn't as a good as a feel it could've been.
The Sheamus-Bryan fiasco sucked the energy out of the crowd for the first hour, which was a shame as I actually thought Orton-Kane was quite good with a very suprising ending. Big Show-Rhodes was a nice feel good moment as well, but the crowd still seemed deflated from the opening match.
There were far too many ads for a major PPV, in my opinion and the music acts were simply not by cup of tea. But HITC was great, Punk-Jericho was very good although I was disappointed by the lacklustre crowd reaction, and Rock-Cena, whilst not as explosive as I had hoped, was still an entertaining main event.
All in all, a good Wrestlemania, just with an astounding booking decision in the opener that sucked a lot of energy away from what was an entertaining first hour.

The opener was a farce for sure but being as I can't stand Daniel Bryan really I wasn't bothered. It annoyed me with Cole and King saying it's a record. It's not a Wrestlemania record because Kane vs Chavo was shorter and it's not a WHC record because CM Punk's cash-in on Edge was shorter, so what record did it actually break?
The first hour as a whole was quite poor but Kane vs Orton was better than expected and Big Show probably deserved to win.
End of an Era. Hell in a Cell. Incredible, spectacular, awesome, wrestling at it's finest. You can always rely on one of Undertaker, HBK and Triple H to steal the show at Mania and this time it was all three of them. HBK played his role well as the referee who hated what he was seeing and didnt want either man's career to end. Triple H played his role excellently too by beating the shit out of Taker to make Shawn end the match. But then he f***ed up and Taker beat the absolute f*** out of him. Taker has looked out of sorts for the few weeks he's been on TV but he was back to his best here. He was amazing and looked like such a badass when he stood on the hammer and laughed at Triple H. It was perfectly booked and probably the best Mania match since HBK-Taker at WM25.
Team Teddy vs Team Johnny was quite fun for what it was. I was dreading Teddy's team winning so thank goodness. Miz now 3-0! Ace's suit was bloody legendary
Jericho vs Punk was a fine match and the right guy definitely won. Loved the pyro for Punk, really cemented his top guy status.
I liked the performance of Invincible because I really like the song. That MGK guy looks like such a turd though. Flo Rida has absolutely no talent whatsoever and that performance was just hard to sit through.
Rock vs Cena was a fun match, definitely worth the year long wait. The ending really pissed me off though. The Rock did not deserve to win IMO. What can Cena do now? I don't want him to turn heel because it would be too out of character but I don't want him to be smiling tonight. I hope he's pissed off and wanting a rematch.
So yeah, very good Wrestlemania IMO. Taker-HHH was worth the 15 quid alone. I'm just sad we wont see any of those three wrestle against each other at Mania again.

Excellent Mania except for that P.O.S. opener. The one good thing is hopefully the WWE realizes that Sheamus killed that crowd DEAD, and gets the belt back on D-Bry asap.
If we gotta go with star rankings:
D-Bry/Sheamus : NEGATIVE FIVE STARS Orton/Kane: ** 1/2 (I liked it, but it dragged a bit) Big Show/Rhodes: *** Divas: ** Hell in a Cell: ***** (one of my favorite matches ever) GM Battle: *** Punk/Jericho: ***** (another one of my favorite matches ever) Rock/Cena: ****
I am disappointed that Cena lost - but I'll give them time to follow up on it. Should be a good story, at elast.

I think it wasn't very well put together on the night. DBD/Sheamus was a joke and it started the evening off on completely the wrong foot. It killed the crowd and had them chanting about that through other matches. I spent Orton/Kane on the phone trying to fix our PPV feed and it seemed like I missed absolutely nothing from the boredom of everyone else. Should have been Ryder's match but god forbid Randy has to share his spot in a multiman tag. Unnecessary and uninteresting. Show/Cody should have been the short match - it didn't need much, just some taunting, punch, celebration. Divas match was as expected in many ways, but went on too long for the finish everybody and their aunt knew was coming. HHH/Taker was good, but I didn't mark like I did last year. Punk/Jericho had good moments if it didn't blow me away. To be fair, this was the point where I was having to take caffeine pills. I loved Brodus' segment and marked out for it. I don't think it was too long that it took time away from anything. I also adored Heath Slater being on the show so much it was ridiculous. I missed the Deadliest Catch thing, but based on the other two, I don't think they overdid it with comedy skits at all this year. Hated the stupid concerts. No idea who these people are or what they're singing, I paid to see a wrestling ppv, not some stupid music crap. Enjoyed the last match quite a bit actually, Rocky especially. At the end, I felt a lot happier than I had after being flattened by the opener.
It was.....ok, overall I guess. I realised just as I was summing up there that I completely forgot the multi-man tag. Well, there were a couple of nice spots and it got Drew on Mania, so that was good I guess.
Matches seemed to be in the wrong order as the first hour was a big bucket of meh and then all the big matches were put together so that it kinda burnt everyone out. No cheap interference or anything to spoil finishes really. I want to see where they go now Rock has won, but not so much for anyone else, which isn't a good sign.

Very good show, best Mania in years.
Sheamus vs Bryan wasn't the best way to start for me. I guess we know why they didn't give it much buildup now. I was looking forward to seeing what sort of match they'd put together but it wasn't to be. I got over it though. It gave Sheamus a memorable Wrestlemania moment and it meant the three top matches got the time they deserved.
Orton vs Kane was fine for what it was and was what I expected, apart from Kane winning. Guess we're gonna get a gimmick match between the two at Extreme Rules. Rhodes vs Big Show was decent and a good end to that feud. The Divas match was nothing offensive and that whatever you call it move Kelly did was pretty cool. Overall, an unspectacular first hour without anything being really bad. The show really, really delivered after that though.
The HIAC match was ace, some great storytelling from all involved. Taker and HHH staring each other down to Metallica while the Cell came down around them was epic. The chairshots were brutal, the visual of Taker's foot standing on the sledgehammer was like something from a film. They definitely got me with HBK getting ready to ring the bell and the Sweet Chin Music into Pedigree finish too. I actually thought, shit, they're gonna end the streak like this? After that, Taker, HHH and HBK going up the ramp together and embracing was a brilliant Wrestlemania moment. Not quite sure how I'd compare it to last year but it was great.
The GM match was fine for what it was. Got a lot of people on the card and it gave everyone a chance to do their thing. Pleased Team Johnny won too and Eve kicking Ryder in the balls was hillarious. Guess we're gonna get some intergender feud now.
Punk/Jericho was very good, I'm glad they got the time they deserved. It started off slow with Y2J trying to get Punk disqualified but that was good storytelling. As it wore on, there were some great spots, the springboard into the Codebreaker and the Frankensteiner into the Walls being the best. The finishing sequence with the Walls of Jericho and Anaconda Vice was ace too.
Rock/Cena was everything I hoped it would be. It had a great big match feel to it and the musical performances before that definitely helped too. It was a different sort of Cena match too, as he was the guy in control and the ring general, which just shows how good he has become. The Rock's done a hell of a job in his two matches considering how long he's been out of the ring. The crossbody into the Attitude Adjustment definitely spot got me. Pleased The Rock won, I think it was the right thing to do, even though I wasn't expecting it. It'll be interesting to see where they go with Cena now because they could put together something really good, I think.
Overall, the big matches all delivered and were all given enough time to do so, which was really pleasing.

too drunk to remember most of the show. Will post thoughts/feelings when I watch it this afternoon. I remember being befuddled at Rock winning though, and Kane winning.
