It sucked the life out of the crowd because they were f***ing pissed off. You know what nobody else would see coming? Doink the Clown running in and costing Sheamus the match. Should that have happened too? At least when it happened with Chavo/Kane, nobody gives a s*** about Chavo (at least the crowd doesn't) so in the end, nobody cared. Pretty much. Unexpected does NOT always equal "good". Especially since it pissed the crowd off and got the face booed. To add on to your point, the Fingerpoke of Doom was unexpected. It also pissed off the crowd who paid to see a title match and the viewing audience as well.

I'm still just utterly baffled by the decision to make the secondary world title the first match, which also makes the Rumble winner curtain jerk for the second consecutive year, and then not even give them a real match; that clearly a large portion of the crowd ( witness all those YES! signs) wanted to see.
When the damn Deadliest Catch commercial---and what the f*** was up with that--- is twice as long, it's just a dumb damn decision.
Plus the take that Sheamus looks strong with this I don't buy, because essentially he sucker punched a dude to get the win.
That whole thing was just shitty no matter how you look at it.

The whole crowd was pissed off how? Sheamus got a big pop it sounded like to me after the title win and it's not like we're not going to get 'that match' anyway. A 30 minute display of skills to start the show would not have got the crowd hot for Orton/Kane and Rhodes/Show, it probably would've made things worse.
I felt like it was done for time constraints, with Mania going until 1045 central (is that typical? I don't recall.) but if they wrote it, so what? The bastards. A great match, yes, but it was the 4th most desirable match on the card anyway.

I knew going in that Sheamus would win, so I'm totally fine with that. I'm admittedly a huge Daniel Bryan fan, but I'm cool with Sheamus too.
Sure, there wasn't a lot of hype for this match, but it was expected to actually... well, be a match. The prospect of Bryan vs. Sheamus, along with the other three main events, were the reasons why I bought WrestleMania in the first place. The first thing I see for the whole PPV is a big guy pummelling a smaller man and winning in under 20 seconds. It sets a bad tone for the PPV, and IMO it didn't make sense in the storyline for it to end that quickly.
Big Show vs. Cody Rhodes I would have expected to be a quick squash. Their whole story is that Cody Rhodes thinks Show is a loser because he has a bad WrestleMania track record. If this was the 18 second match, I'd be a little disappointed as a fan of Cody, but it'd make sense in relation to the story. What better way for Cody to get his comeuppance than losing in a spectacular fashion to Big Show?

well, the match managed to get Bryan over huge as the fans pretty much turned on Sheamus instantly. There was a loud bullsh*t chant immediately afterward, and Daniel Bryan chants throughout the show. There was lots of "Yes!" signs as well. it's like they attempted to bury him, but the fans ended up loving him even more because of it

They boo'd him, chanted bullshit and chanted for Bryan for until Taker/Hunter. They were pissed. It was reported that match was the plan for weeks and even if it wasn't only a f***ing idiot takes time from a major title match to make up for it.

Somewhere in Miami Daniel Bryan is sitting in the corner of a bathroom crying. The sad part is...I don't think he is. See, Bryan is a professional, so when he was told that he was having the belt taken off of him, he probably accepted it. And when they (more that likely) told him today that it'd be a 18 second affair, and that he wouldn't get a chance to shine on the Biggest Stage Of Them All...he probably sighed and accepted it. But the fact is, he should have been so pissed off that he couldn't see straight. He probably was, but this is where he is. He's lucky to be here after getting fired originally, to be making the money he is. He's a world's champ, he's been in the main event scene for months now, and he has a great heel character. The only problem is, when stuff like this happens, we know there's no recovering from it. We've seen it happen a bunch of times, especially at Wrestlemania, and it does no good for the guy at the end of the losing. It shows that WWE has no trust in him, his credibility is shot, and with the exception of his rematch, he probably won't be anywhere near any major championship anytime soon. Weaselly heels just don't get far anymore, and I think Bryan understands that. One has to just look at Miz to see where that path leads. Which makes it sad, because I can see him sucking it up and taking it. I'm sure more than a few people want him to leave and go back to somewhere like ROH, but it'd be foolish to do so. It just sucks seeing a guy with a lot of talent become an instant afterthought in the company.

I just got back from Wrestlemania. Before the show started, the two biggest and most repeated chants were Let's Go Cena/Cena Sucks and YES! In fact, the YES chants might have been repeated more than the Cena chants. Even if it was a smarky-thing, the crowd had a fair number of smarks that night. Couple that with the opening match and people being hyped for Wrestlemania, the crowd was red-hot and hyped for the match when it started. Though there was a pop when Sheamus won, it was half marks cheering/people reacting in shock. I could see this in my section in the lower bowl, which felt like a microcosm of the fans in attendance.
Rewatch the show. Compare how hot the crowd was before Sheamus/Bryan to how deflated they were up until Hell in a Cell. The difference is extremely notable.
There were a lot of people that felt they were short-changed out of a match they actually WANTED to see and had very little desire to react to things later. The Daniel Bryan chants were present after his match, and even when I left the stadium, there were still some people chanting YES! as they were leaving.

If they needed to make this happen in order to give me more Hell in a Cell, Punk/Jericho, & Rock/Cena... I'm plenty ok with it.
The crowd I was watching with, granted they do not know a lot about DB's long indepedent career, enjoyed it as well. I mean, I know the online community LOVES Daniel Bryan but this is a whole new level.

How insanely over Bryan was, which went into the next several matches after it as he got numerous chants? And maybe it was your 4th most desirable match, but it was my second most and I was really excited for it. Bryan's my favorite wrestler in the world, and I was really happy for him getting a Mania title match.

They both looked like complete jokes at Wrestlemania, curtain jerking in 18 seconds. Sheamus still looks like a scrub and Bryan looks no better.

And if they wanted to give more time to the other big matches, they should've cut out the 10-15 minutes they wasted for the concerts.

I'm not denying the chants or anything like that. I guess my main problem with all of this is the fact that it's being blamed for deflating all the heat behind the 'fascinating' Kane/Orton & Rhodes/Show match. If they didn't throw in Hell in a Cell and went straight to that 10 man tag, holy crap, that would've blew chunks. Great Sheamus/DB match or not.

It was awesome. We all pretty much expected a great, long fought match, NOBODY seen that coming. I thought it was a great way to start the show off. If you wanted to see a killed crowd, what if Kane/Orton kicked off the show followed by a long-fought DB/Sheamus match? I don't see how Sheamus' win sucked the life out of the crowd when there was a pretty long string of boring ass matches. I thought it was an excellent idea and it was evident the pop for the title change, something unexpected in a product that almost seems unable to do that anymore! I agree, it was awesome. I was laughing just thinking about what the reactions on here would be. No offense but that is a really shitty attitude. "People are pissed off, what fun!" I never understand that thinking.
