Spurs have signed Lloris and Dempsey. Very happy with both those signings, we needed a keeper and although we've got a shedload of midfielders I'd much rather have Dempsey with us than against us and he can play a second striker role. Liverpool must be kicking themselves over him. Heard they only offered £4 million which annoyed Fulham and they refused to do a deal. SPURS got Dempsey?!?!?! OMFG, I thought it was only ever Redknapp that was the ultimate troll at that place. Turns out it's the whole damn club.

So basically Liverpool replaced Andy Carroll with.....no one.
That will give them amazing striking options!

Happy to see us through the qualifier but it was much harder than it should have been. We were not good second half. Also, why did we get Utd in the League Cup?! Why?! Since Carroll has gone to West Ham I'm hoping we will make 2 more signings tomorrow, probably would prefer another full back and another centre midfielder. I think we were waiting to see if we got Liverpool to finally budge on our offer for Carroll but since that hasn't happened if we want to improve or equal last year's performance we still need a couple more signings. I also have no idea where West Ham are getting their money from? One guess is they're lending it on the premise that they will eventually move into the Olympic Stadium where they will increase revenues through ticket sales? I can predict one thing though, they will not spend 17m on Andy Carroll next summer. Think we're okay in the centre midfield department. Just hold on to everybody and get another defender or two in. Still think we're lacking a better left back, centre back and right back. anyone have the code to join the fantasy league this year? 852891-284238 cheers

I see some "fans" are already calling for AVB to be sacked.

Sigh. I didn't expect much out of today as Arsenal have a good record against us in recent years but why the f*** did we let Andy Carroll go on loan without getting in a replacement striker?

Good win for Arsenal today, good to see our new signings firing now. Except Giroud who I'm not convinced by yet. And still no goals conceded! By our 3rd game last year we had conceded 10.

Thus far, it looks like Spurs & Liverpool are going to have what could be described as transitional seasons (even though we're only 3 games in).
The question already seems to be which team, if any, will stick and which team will twist. I'll go out on a limb and guess that only one manager will be in charge of their current club at the start of next season.
EDIT; We have been so slow out of the traps in all three league games this season, we've managed to improve in the 2nd half of our last two, hopefully we can continue that today.

Two interesting signings from the Russian Premier League transfer deadline day:
- David Bentley joins FC Rostov on loan from Spurs
- Lassana Diarra leaves Real Madrid and signs a four-year deal with Anzhi

Rochdale Driving School has a website. On that page they proudly state that Man City player Courtney Meppen-Walter passed with them. The same man who is accused of causing death by dangerous driving.

It's been delivered 23 years too late but I am glad that the families and friends of the 96 who died at Hillsborough all those years ago are finally vindicated in what they have been saying for all this time. Hopefully now somewhere down the line justice will finally be served. It's a very long and heartbreaking piece but I'd urge everybody to read this article, truly gives you a stark perspective of the events on that dark day: www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/hillsborough-documents-released-brian-reade-1318730

For 23 years of immense hurt, they've shown immense dignity in their quest for the truth and now, finally, they've been rewarded. I see that f***ing piece of shit Kelvin MacKenzie has apologized. And he's been invited to ram that apology up his arsehole. I wonder what The Sun will have to say about it tomorrow.

The Sun need to say "We are sorry. We have no excuse. We lied. We smeared the dead and the survivors. We inflicted unnecessary pain and suffering on the families of the dead. We offer a complete and total apology"

I hope some of the police officers get brought to trial, they're at least as bad as The Sun and in many cases worse.

The part about the coroner taking the BAC of all deceased, including the children, was harrowing.
I always believed in the cover-up, but not to that level, including the stuff about the Sun's cover story originally coming from the police.
