A few things, first.
Second, That's pretty awful of the mom throwing the Husband under the bus like that and turning herself into the victim. Their gonna crucify this guy and the chick gonna get away free with a few tears and a sob story. If you're gonna crack down on the dad, give the mom the same treatment, abuse is abuse. UGH, things like this make me so angry.

I saw that last night and seriously, my jaw dropped.
Look, you want to punish you kids I get that. You even want to use a belt, okay I can understand that. One, maybe two slaps across a clothed butt and that's it, lesson learned.
The fact that he goes on for f***ing minutes is insane. That's not punishing your kid, that's f***ing abuse.
The fact that she has cerebral palsy just makes it worse.

I get what you are saying but almost every time in cases like these it ends up that the wife was also beaten and made the beat the kids or else she would get beaten with them. I guarantee you that the wife was beaten as a girl by her dad as well which is why she married someone so violent. I'm sure the dad was also beaten as a kid as well. In a lot of these cases except for a few rare ones it turns out that the parents were also abused as kids and it creates a vicious pattern. Hitting kids does nothing but screw them up as adults. Abuse is abuse. Kid's brains are still growing. If you hit them it ruins the growth in the brain and causes all kind of psychological problems. someone who was truly abused as a kid cannot function normally as an adult. |

The video is shocking. Obviously the guy needs to face serious consequences. It can be nothing else but a clear case of abuse.

My mom always used a belt because it would hurt too much to use her hand. My dad used a hand though, and that shit hurt worse than any belt I ever got spanked with. Damn, sounds like I got abused or something, but I only got maybe 4 or 5 spankings in my life. But yea, this dude is a dick. Poor girl. |

Just watched the Dr. Drew video...and he gets comments from some lady (sorry her name escapes me) that said that the US Supreme Court banned corporal punishment in schools in the 1970's. WTF? They did? I got a few paddlings in high school and that was in the 2000's. Granted, you could only be punished that way if your parents had signed a form at the beginning of the year giving them permission, so maybe that's the catch. Anyway, sorry for going off topic.

Honestly not seeing what the big deal is nor where Dr. Drew's outrage stems from. He's making an assumption that the (obviously bitter) daughter is honest and not just out to get her famous, politically-relevant father. I think she's a calculated, cold bitch who knew exactly what she was doing by hiding a webcam and play-acting for the camera when she got spanked. The opinion is a valid as Dr. Drew's, quite frankly, since nobody knows the real story at all.
A vengeful hidden camera public post made to ruin your dad's career seems like a much more unforgivable familial offense to me than legal discipline of a person's child with a belt, at the end of the day.
