It's time for a shiny new thread. Time for some speculation about who's signing who. Will any team other than Liverpool, Man Utd and Sunderland buy anybody? How much will Man City overspend on a player? What club will Martin O'Neill be linked with next?
The usual rules apply. Do not go too far, keep it respectful and remember... "BANTER!!!!".

Oh. In a couple of weeks, I'll look into starting up a Fantasy League for us guys here. If you're interested in taking part, let me know (if you didn't already in the last thread).

So I am now going to be going to my first football game on the 30th in Portland when they take on Toronto FC. I seriously can't wait. I've been loving watching Timbers games on TV (I used to go to their games back when they were a minor league team.) I even got a shirt to celebrate!

Fulham are about to sign Marcel Gecov from Slovan Liberec in the Czech Republic. Defensive mid that is a hard tackler, and many say he is a great fit in England. THey have also placed a bid on Palermo Mid Pajtim Kasami.
Barca has accepted a £5million bid from Bolton for Jeffren Suarez. Jeffren has yet to accept the move as he wants to stay in Spain
Carlos Tevez might be heading for Corinthians as the team has offered Man City £40m for the former captain

Anybody catch "How To Buy A Football Club" on Channel 4 earlier? Caught the last ten minutes of it earlier and it looked pretty interesting to say the least.

So in the latest episode of "As the Carlos Turns", City isn't convinced that Corinthians will be able to pony up the agreed upon transfer fee of £39m and that's the reason for the delay.

The only MLS place that looks as alive as Portland is Seattle.

Was there that much that was genuinely surprising though? Washed up ex pro footballers and dodgy asian businessmen being involved with secretive investment companies doesn't seem like a shocking revelation. I imagine Bryan Robson will be in trouble, but as he said "football is a business." What it does highlight is that the FA as a regulator of this huge business is woefully amateur and inadequate and needs to either be improved or replaced in this role as a priority.

There's rumors coming out of CONMEBOL that the Gold Cup and Copa America will combine into a 16-team "America's Cup" starting in 2015. All 10 countries from CONMEBOL and 6 from CONCACAF would qualify.

Central American and Carribean nations might have a problem with it as it would make qualifying for a World Cup virtually impossible for them.

I am NOT looking forward to the MLS All-Stars/Man U game. It's honestly just our yearly reminder that us Americans suck at soccer compared to the rest of the world.

Yeah it would really kill any chances of the Central American and Caribbean sides making the World Cup, which they already have little chance thanks to the current USA/Mexico stranglehold on the CONCACAF.....

And Uruguay win the Copa America yet again. Suarez scores again. I haven't watched much of it but from what I hear, he was the best player of the tournament. I love that man!
