For me this forum probably helps me enjoy the shows more. I'd be tearing apart and making fun of the product whether I was on here or not but having this forum makes me believe that people actually care about my worthless opinions. It's great.

Reading forums doesn't affect my opinion on any wrestling show. There were things I enjoyed that a lot of fans probably felt was a misfire (Katie Vick), and there were some popular things I really didn't get the appeal of (BikerTaker). And usually I find myself viewing the show within the context of the characters- so if Morrison loses a match I think "damn, dude's off his game", rather than anything pertaining to John Hennigan the real person.
However, as a mod, I have dreaded certain booking decisions because I know I may have to wade through some unpleasant bickering in order to keep the peace.

I wouldn't have enjoyed the past 2 Raw episodes, even if the internet never existed. The booking on the Halloween Raw alone pretty much killed any desire I had to watch Survivor Series.
But Smackdown has been pretty good lately.

The thing with this forum, is that for every major booking decision that is unpopular on a show, there are about 5 small details that will make everyone mark, which makes its a more fun place.

Awesome? No, wouldn't go that far. Passable perhaps. Though plenty of the criticisms I see here are valid. Visceral and overblown at times, but still valid.

Honestly, for all the complaining this is one of the most positive forums on the internet.

Honestly, for all the complaining this is one of the most positive forums on the internet. Don't get me wrong, this isn't a hate topic on the forum. This forum is great. I consider it the best online, easily. It's my only point of reference because none of my friends are into wrestling, so this is the only place I discuss it.

I amhere for at least a few minutes every day, and I enjoy most of what WWE is currently doing.
I must be doing something wrong.

I, on the other hand, probably wouldn't be following wrestling at all anymore if there wasn't a large community of people with whom I could trade snarky jokes about it.

I don't agree. I think I have more enjoyment from the topics here on this board. I often use the board to gauge which matches I should watch on YT or something. I can't for the life of me spend 2+ hours watching what WWE is putting out. I figured that on my own without any "board" influencing my decisions. I won't swallow anything Vince tries to shove down my throat.................................Um by that I mean his crappy writing and booking.

Honestly, for all the complaining this is one of the most positive forums on the internet. Yeah, there's way more complaining on every other board I've been to over the year's than there is on here.

Without the forum I tend to just lose interest and stop watching.

Most pro wrestling is awesome, other than ROH, when you ignore the forum. I have noticed this several times since summer, when I would catch an episode of RAW (or Impact) while not viewing the forum until afterwards. Said episode would always seem better, until I reviewed the forum reaction. Sorry people, but I'm just being honest about my feelings here.

Not for me it's not.
But I've never understood letting others opinions affect your own anyway.

A lot of things are different when you don't have other opinions.
I, for one, never knew Batman & Robin was considered such a horrible film everywhere until 10 years later.

I'm sort of with the OP, where I just watch the show without looking at a forum or so but during some moments I have to see how FAN feels about it, good or bad. I also don't look at spoilers unless someone isn't careful about what they post; makes SmackDown and even Impact Wrestling more enjoyable for me.

I think he is saying that it's easier to enjoy something when others around you aren't dissecting every little detail of what you're watching. By this I mean you might enjoy something, but if you have dozens of people saying "This sucks cause of ____," thoughts then become of the argument of "why it doesn't suck" instead of "why I enjoyed it." Once it becomes about more than just your personal enjoyment, it's not as fun. Precisely this. I absolutely cannot watch if someone next to me is going all "oh, he sold that badly" or "well, ___ won, so that's a lot of heels going over tonight. So ___ will win the main event." I don't come on here when I'm watching, but I do love seeing what everyone thinks afterwards, because I love that everyone has a different take on it. I cannot watch WWE with my cousin for this reason. He really seems to take every booking error (something he doesn't agree with, usually a heel losing) or predictable moment as a personal slight against him, and he relishes being the guy to point out "watch see this is gonna happen now". And eventually it drifts back "to man, 1994, those were the days man" and then to "I remember when Cena was good" tio "Man Shelton Benjmain and Carlito were a wesome WWE is stupid why aren't they still there". It's always the same progression of thoughts, sort of like a mental Kurt Angle match.

This I can't stand. I don't mind on the internet - I can just skip over it if I see a post that looks like that. But when I'm at a show, and there's one of those assholes* near me, I just want to scream at them to shut the f*** up. *thank you for letting me borrow your phrase, Penn.

Forum or not. It seems like I like the segments most people hate and vice versa.

For me, the forum is a great outlet.
When I see the WWE champion getting pinned clean with no attention being given to how massive that should be, and when the person beating him isn't going to get a title shot out of the victory, and the monster World Heavyweight Champion is used as an obstacle to a WWE championship match, AND the main event babyface beats up the two main event heels by himself to build up a match in which he supposedly needs a partner's aid?
I'm going to think that's stupid whether I'm on a forum or not. It's not like I'm going to magically think that what they did with Big Show/Del Rio, how Punk got the title shot, or Cena laying out both Miz and R-Truth was great, or that WWE somehow gets a bad rap they don't deserve. Sure, we may go overboard in some departments, but much of what is criticized of WWE on these boards ABSOLUTELY deserve criticism, discussion, and downright ire, if only for their own sake, since their practices seemed designed against consistent, steady money-making. But it's their business, so whatever. I can only offer my opinion.
And, at the end of the day, I can't turn off the critical parts of my brain just because I don't read other people's opinions.
