I think I actually like it more when I'm watching it while posting in the RAW/SmackDown threads on here, since there's a feeling of watching it with friends. I also don't have any real-life friends who are big into wrestling, so it's great to come here and have people to discuss/joke about the shows with.

This forum is a tale of Two Cities. There's moments I f***ing love this place and moments I want to delete my account. But compare to most forums I used to frequent, it's paradise.

This forum is pretty much my connection to wrestling for the last couple years. I'll have Raw on in the background, but only vaguely pay attention 90% of the time. If something big happens to blow up the board, I'll catch the replay on UHD on the weekend.

But they've been having good shows lately, so I've concentrated more on those and less on the thread. I do avoid anything to do with spoilers/speculation around WrestleMania. That's the one time of year I go back to being 11 years old, not knowing what's going to happen, marking out with my brother.

In order to participate in discussions of the show on this forum...or really anywhere at any meaningful capacity, you have to actively watch the show instead of "turning your brain off." Once you start actively watching the show, it's hard to turn that switch back off and a lot of Raw booking crumbles under the colossal might of just thinking outside the moment. And then you start being cynical like me or just end up sounding like: For me, the forum is a great outlet. When I see the WWE champion getting pinned clean with no attention being given to how massive that should be, and when the person beating him isn't going to get a title shot out of the victory, and the monster World Heavyweight Champion is used as an obstacle to a WWE championship match, AND the main event babyface beats up the two main event heels by himself to build up a match in which he supposedly needs a partner's aid? I'm going to think that's stupid whether I'm on a forum or not. It's not like I'm going to magically think that what they did with Big Show/Del Rio, how Punk got the title shot, or Cena laying out both Miz and R-Truth was great, or that WWE somehow gets a bad rap they don't deserve. Sure, we may go overboard in some departments, but much of what is criticized of WWE on these boards ABSOLUTELY deserve criticism, discussion, and downright ire, if only for their own sake, since their practices seemed designed against consistent, steady money-making. But it's their business, so whatever. I can only offer my opinion. And, at the end of the day, I can't turn off the critical parts of my brain just because I don't read other people's opinions. I salute you for making me rewrite my post. ;D

I still go to forums and see people whine/bitch/moan about it, so in return I whine/bitch/moan//laugh about them being whiners and all, and that is where I enjoy watching and then mocking people who whine/bitch/moan about it.
If you let others influence you/brainwash you over some things you read on the internet, you're not really appreciating it all so why continue watching at all?

For me, the forum is a great outlet. My reasons exactly. I like to discuss how I feel about the product, just like anybody else. Sure, there's a few people around here who can't be pleased, seemingly, but they're the minority.

This forum makes the wrestling experience much better for me. My opinion of wrestling was pretty much solidified back in the late 90s. I was spoiled on Steve Austin, Bret Hart and the like. Now they trudge guys like Alex Riley and Mason Ryan out there and expect us hardcore wrestling fans to eat it up. I don't need a wrestling forum to show me the level of talent between then and now is lightyears apart.

Pfft.. I love this place! Granted, there are a few negative people but everyone's entitled to their own opinion.
Also, blanketing the entire forum as a group of people who hinder your enjoyment is a little crazy considering a good chunk of people here probably love the product. You just have to decide on who you want to focus your attention on.

I actually tried to watch wrestling without reading results, dirtsheets, or anything that would "ruin" my viewing of this particular product. Needless to say I still didn't like what I saw and felt completely alienated.

Needless to say I still didn't like what I saw and felt completely alienated. Pretty much this. There was a time period where I didn't have access to the internet for a few months and it didn't change the way I felt about the shows at all. That's when I realized that the typical IWC stuff doesn't affect the way that I watch the shows. I mean, I guess stuff that I learned about years ago like workrate and whatnot have influenced me to a point of no return, but I find myself disagreeing with a lot of what I read online. Either people are hating on something that I really liked, or they're singing the praises of something that I thought was stupid. Not that I'm going against the grain or anything, I would just say that it's about 50/50 really.

Its amusing and annoying all at once.

WWE is awesome, forum or not. When everything is working, and they're firing on all cylinders, it can be one of the most exciting shows on TV. When everything isn't quite working, and things aren't going as planned, it is usually one of the funniest shows on TV. It's a win-win for me. I definitely think of how this board will react to certain things as they're happening, though, because it's one of the most interesting places for wrestling discussion. I disagree with a lot of what I read, but that's kinda what makes it interesting.

I am glad I am not only the one like this ;D I have love/hate in watching wwe I stopped watching few years back and started watching again this year because I didnt like what I was seeing + my fave wrasslers are off tv so why bother? I mean youre just wasting your time whining and moaning about the show and its like wwe really cares what the internets think right. Vince doesnt give a crap what the internets say, I mean they are aware but its all about the monaaaaaay. internets =/= $$$

Of course thats not the only reason, but its starting to get that way on accident because of the whole "accentuate the negative" mentality that people bring online. I'd dig just discussing but the negativity filters are so strong that its hard for me to do that.

I'm just curious, as I've never understood the 'haw haw upset smarks' mentality either.

I know my enjoyment started going down when I got into the forums and dirtsheets but just the same my enjoyment went down because I got older but the storylines didn't.
I've tried that whole "don't read the internet and just enjoy the shows" thing...it didn't work for me. I wanted to read the dirtsheets.

No, not saying I mock them on forums, but rather on my own blog, because I can say what I want there because that is my blog, after all. I dont need to push down on people on forums what I think so I need my space where I can bitch/moan in return

I'm just curious, as I've never understood the 'haw haw upset smarks' mentality either. I am not saying I don't enjoy coming here, this is the best place a wwe *smark* could get, all the non-srs arguments over things, and all the photoshop threads and all. What's wrong with some people are the "blind hate" towards a certain wrassler/higher up *cough*haitch*cough, blaming creative , and if their fave wrassler loses ONE MATCH they all whine and cry that their fave is being buried and how segments and matches are poorly booked. That's the mentality I was talking about. And also the way they believe all they read on the internets and dirtsheets. I'm not trying to get myself *over* here but I do read dirtsheets too and stuff here but I don't necessarily get that in my brain and let it stick there, I just sit back, relax and enjoy the show, instead of going to forums after and whine and cry and moan.
