And how do we all feel about it now?
I ask this question, not in terms of how some abstract WWE universe feels about it, nor in terms of any individual fantasy booking, but in terms of how we, as individual, fairly dedicated, individual fans feel. So basically, not in terms of how we wanted in to finish, but in terms of how it actually did.
We have seem the story that led into MITB turn from one man's campaign against the company, into a company wide storyline. One that has arguably shifted away from its initial premise, or one that has continued it in a logical fashion, depending on ones personal preferences. I'm just curious as to how we, as divorced crappers and fanners, feel about the storyline and both Punk and Cena's role in it, in retrospect.
Again, its not about saying 'this is what should've been done', but more an appraisal of the storyline that has lasted 3 months, multiple PPVs, and is leading into arguably the third biggest PPV of the year.

It was the high point of what should've been the greatest storyline in years.

Awesome show with one of the best matches I've seen in awhile as the main event and a super hot crowd, but sadly in the end it will only be remembered as a great show and not the start of something bigger.
But it did help Punk make himself into a star so I'd say it was a success in that regard. I certainly can't remember the last time they actually made a star on a pay per view.

It was the high point of what should've been the greatest storyline in years. That's right and the sad thing is we have said that about so many things over the last decade or so now that I just completely expect them to f*** up any and every potentially great angle. They've yet to disappoint.

I think it goes to show that it doesn't really matter what PPV you order anymore, it's always going to be a mixed bag. This years WM stank to high hell and a throwaway PPV, MITB, was awesome.
Of course, it had a really engaging storyline going in and just about everyone important got a slot on the card. But aside from a harmless and short diva match, every other match was great.
Sadly, it became apparant rather quickly afterwards that WWE once again couldn't follow up on something hot.

My favorite WWE moment of all time with Punk winning. I truly feel that way.

great PPV, great build-up with an un-toppable main event
unfortunately, as usual, the follow-up didn't come close to being this exciting

The story went downhill after it, but man, how do you top that? I marked like a little kid when Punk won. It was not only the best PPV of the year, it's one PPV I'll remember for years.

One the best PPVs I've ever seen in PG Era,hell,I might go on and say that it was the best PPV of PG Era.Obviously, they were going to f*** it up,but at least we enjoyed the real wrestling and attitude tension with Punk.

MITB was one of those rare occasions where all the stars aligned. The main event (the match, the storyline) were as close to perfect as they could get. It was great to watch and left you wanting more. That hour is probably one of my favourite hours in wrestling.
The PPV on the whole was one of the best in recent years. It would be THE best but is let down by the dire Kelly/Bella match.

CM Punk, One of the greatest hometown entrances in history.... I mean the crowd was heard chanting "CM Punk" with Killswitch Engage blasting through the arena.... Need i say more?

CM Punk, One of the greatest hometown entrances in history.... I mean the crowd was heard chanting "CM Punk" with Killswitch Engage blasting through the arena.... Need i say more? Agreed. I just the commentators would have just stayed quiet through both Cena and Punks entrances. They didnt completly ruin it but the atmosphere would have made even more of an impact. Especially considering you NEVER find a crowd like that often in the current era.

Unpredictable and fantastic. Reminds me how throwaway PPVs tend to be the best PPVs the WWE could produce.
