His look is acceptable if generic, he comes up with funny ad-libbed lines and his promos are otherwise servicable, he's great in the ring, and he... well, he isn't uncharismatic, but there's nothing that stands out about him either. Dolph's practically the definition of a competent, reliable midcarder. I agree with this as well. There is nothing that screams star from him to me, though maybe he does have the skillset and he's just getting held down. But from what I've seen he's average on the stick and seems like a not terribly charismatic guy.

He has the potential to be one of the biggest legend stars in this entire....GAH!
But seriously, the guy is awesome all-around. Name and the hair isn't a big problem now because I'm used to it. The Miz and The Big Show sounded like stupid names but they became credible world champions. Same with Ziggler.

He's a hell of a wrestler, but I think he's lacking the IT factor...be it the big time feel when he comes out or the overwhelming presence of Vicki. Being short wasn't a problem for the Miz, so Dolph will be fine. I didn't mention height. I was talking about presence. He doesn't have that main event feel to him IMO. To be honest neither does Miz much anymore.

He still comes across as a version of Billy Gunn who can wrestle a singles match instead of just tag team matches.
He'll get farther than Billy, but I don't see him as a "Face of the Company" guy.
Maybe more to the level of a guy like Christian.

They tried that before and it didn't turn out well. I'd even say he should grow out his hair a bit more so he can put it in a small ponytail to combat that frizz effect he gets halfway through a match. That's the only problem I have with his looks. The bleaching is horrible for hair and it didn't look right short and dark. He needs it long a not bleached.

He's great and probably my one of my top WWE guys right now, but he's as far away from the "it" factor as 99% of the guys, he looks like a teenage movie cast guy and he has NO presence at all. His charisma is negligible. He's great in the ring and decent on the mic, but I wouldn't ever compare him to Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin or The Rock. Those guys are the ones with the "it" factor.

I agree and its hard for me to take him seriously as a main event threat with the biker shorts...I know its a very pathetic thing to judge on...I really think he needs more traditional attire...I was really interested in the singlet he wore recently but dont think he ever fully sported it

Dolph Ziggler is a 5 tool player, whereas Michael Cole is a one tool player, the one tool being himself.

If the name is a big problem to the higher-ups, he can always just be referred to as "Ziggler" like Dave Batista became just "Batista." I always thought it was the Ziggler part that was weird.

He reminds me so much of a young Shawn Michaels, it's unreal. If they let him use his superkick (which he does as well, if not a little better than Michaels) as a regular finisher then it'll be even more obvious. His in-ring work and smugness is off the charts. The way he flicks his hair grease at his opponent mid-match or yells to the crowd how great he is after a big move is excellent.
More importantly, he's one of the few guys these days that makes me believe his character which is so integral to making me care. Even though I knew it was fake back in the attitude era, I didn't doubt for a second that Austin was a vulgar, beer drinking redneck or that The Rock was a fast-talking, over-the-top jock. When I see a Miz or a Kofi Kingston or a Sheamus, not even necessarily guys I don't like, it's just so obvious that they're playing characters. The Miz may be getting his ass kicked, but Mike Mizanin is just happy to be there. I don't get that from Ziggler. When they give him the ball, he might not give it back.

Ziggler dying his hair brown and getting a haircut honestly almost killed his career
