What are some other moves or set-ups to moves that seem to exist solely to be dodged or countered anymore?
I don't think anything can top Ric Flair going to the top rope for... something... (maybe a double axe handle?) and inevitably getting countered into a slam or crotched on the ropes.
The one move that comes to mind in WWE nowadays that fits that criteria is the Lionsault; I think you can count with one hand the number of times the Lionsault has actually been hit in the past few years, even if Jericho lands on his feet before running into another attack.
Nowadays it seems like the more common thing to do is to give us the set-up to a finisher like Kofi clapping or Orton pounding the mat and the immediately counter that instead.

Any finishing move where someone panders before hand.

Scott Hall always used to set up the Razor's Edge much too close to the ropes and much too early in the match, and would always get backdropped over the top rope. Must've happened to poor Razor Ramon every ppv match he had as a babyface.

Kurt Angle's moonsault, and Big Show's Vader bomb.

Swagger's Vaderbomb. I think he hit it twice last year.

Doesn't Miz usually miss the first time he tries his running low big boot and gets rolled up?

DiBiase's diving double axe handle. DiBiase's falling back elbow off the top rope as well.

Didn't Del Rio used to attempt a top rope senton? I don't think he ever actually connected with it.

Heel Daniel Bryan's diving headbutt. Until his OTL match with Punk, I'm fairly certain that he missed every single attempt.
Hell, I'm not so sure if he even hit the thing when he was a face.

Stone Cold trying to piledrive somebody outside of the ring. He got back-dropped every time, apart from that one time he got Angle with it on concrete.

Throwing a punch at Cena after being hit with a shoulderblock. Everyone does it, and it never works. Always lets Cena hit the proto-bomb.

When Hogan would Hulk up everyone always tried to punch him instead of getting the hell out of there and taking a countout or something.
