Frankly, I have no idea. I got sick on Wednesday and have been really out of it since.

Is there a thread for the Once movie? I can't seem to find it.

Hurm... Then who's next? (posting from a phone - no Google Docs for me).
Until then, I must admit that we have quite the impressive first round of movies so far.
Just throwing this out there, but what if we tried something like a theme for the next round of picks? For example, we could do a round where we all pick a comedy, one for action, one for drama, and so on. Perhaps members need not be utterly beholden to the theme and may opt out if they either don't care for movies within the theme or else don't know enough to participate. Those who opt out can still choose a movie though - it will just not fit the general theme.
Thoughts?

Up next is Guy of Ownage with Pyscho (1960). After him is Dave Randal with Escape from New York. After him is kidglov3s with They Shoot Horses, Don't They?

Let me know if They Shoot Horses, Don't They? is too unavailable. There were two DVDs but they're OOP. If it's something no one else is going to be able to watch I should choose a different one. I was just really fascinated by it at the time I chose it.
Y'know, thinking about it, I'm going to change it to The Graduate. It's from the same period, has had a lot more releases, is a lot more popular and is a lot more available.

Can I watch Gus Van Sant's remake of Psycho and pretend that Hitchcock's version features Janet Leigh's butthole and Anthony Perkins jerking off?
And I already like the "strangest film you've ever seen" theme idea.
Can't wait for Escape from New York...

I have so many movies of various genres in my collection, so picking one based on a theme would be no problem for me.

Other kinds of themes: specific actor/actress/director/producer/screenwriter. Some of those are more limited than others, I'll admit. This could blow The Movie Club wide open...
That said, because of the limited selection for some themes, what if members could co-opt selections? They would both be responsible for driving the discussion of the movie.

I like the idea of picking a really random theme, that would still allow a good deal of freedom and diversity of selections.

He's still interested. I base this on the post below. Crap...my selection was intended to be presented during the Halloween season, but if everyone keeps getting bumped up, that won't be happening

Maybe we should set up a back up for every week?
