Scouts Guide To The Zombie Apocalypse was hysterical. Best Zombie comedy I've seen this year, and probably the second best Zombie comedy I've seen overall.
I'm posting this hear because I'm pretty sure the movie came out on Halloween and not on Friday, and that must really screw with box office take because it list the first day of the weekend.

No, what screwed its box office was being part of Paramount's wacky VOD experiment, resulting in low screen count and advertising.

I know I saw I lot of ads for it for months -- a lot more than I saw for Jem and Fantastic Four combined, possibly. Though, when my brother was looking for trailers on the Cable on demand service, and only zombie movie he saw was Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, and he thought we were seeing that.

It's not VOD now, but it and Paranormal Activity will be on VOD much sooner than traditional practice - 17 days after it drops below 300 screens.

Jem has only made about $1,930,000 in two weeks.
Even considering its 5 million budget, this is a colossal bomb.

How sad is your life when you have to send death threats to a director of a bad movie based off a bad children's tv show from the 80s?

Next week we got The Peanuts Movie Sadly, it's the same weekend as Spectre. I have a feeling Bond beats Brown.

I'm pulling for Peanuts because I find the Daniel Craig Bond movies a overly pretentious joyless bore. Also I grew up and loved the peanut comics and films. Batista better steal the show and have a fair bit of screen time

I do feel its a bit of smart counter programming though. probably about as smart as Disney opening Winnie the Pooh the same weekend as the last Harry Potter movie There's a lot more crossover in a childrens book adaptation and a childrens book adaptation. James Bond and Peanuts aren't going after the same audiences.

That said, I predict that Peanuts probably takes the weekend due to the family crowd. Won't be a blowout though.
