Not yet. She's also not done anything as interesting as the Mickie/Trish thing yet either.

Why is it only when a diva is concerned that being a fan is considered creepy? You see twice as many Punk and Bryan threads each week, and no one's calling their fans out for unhealthy worshiping. But do something to express the fact that you're a fan of a diva and people jump all over you. CM Punk and Daniel Bryan fandom, while obsessive in its own way, generally doesn't involve talking about how hot they'd look if they dressed up as schoolgirls. Or posting pictures of their butts and talking about how great they'd be at anal. Though I'm sure there are some parts of the internet where that's not the case. I think that's mostly because most wrestling fans, and in the forums, are straight males.

Yes, with "cult" being the perfect description of it. A so-so performer who's worshipped because "Heh-heh, she likes geek stuff too, she'd TOTALLY be into me". You know, theres a difference between saying 'I don't really care for this wrestler' and 'People who like this performer is a twat'. I'm not saying thats what you think, but that messaged was phrased to sound like it.

Do I think she's a nerd? Perhaps, but nowhere near the level she plays it up. And you know this how? She doesn't even portray a "nerd" on TV. It's on Twitter and interviews where her nerdiness shines through. And I really HATE that people defending AJ get called "white knights" like they're blind in their adulation. All defenders do is call bulls*** on people that make unjust judgments about AJ like they know her personally (the pandering issue). People refuse to believe that AJ could actually be like she seems and that just rubs people the wrong way. They jump to the conclusion that she's fake without the slightest bit of evidence to support that, while there's plenty of evidence to support people's beliefs that she's on the genuine side.

She went to NYU, the definition of hip. She's also attractive and sociable. I don't think she's "nerd" the way many people are thinking, but in the hip way it is cool to be a nerd now. Not the kind of kid that got beat up, had their glasses stolen and shoved into lockers in school type of nerd, or hasn't been out of their basement in years, goes without bathing for days and has never been on a date.

Even if that was pure, undeniable fact, which it isn't... how on earth is this even an argument, let alone a thing? You can't like geeky things or be considered a nerd without being beaten up? I consider myself a nerd and I headbutted a guy into submission for trying to pick on me (when I was 12 and didn't know any better). This whole 'ooooh she's pandering' thing seems to me like a weird reflexive self-hate thing among some people.

Some of the Mickie fans were..."quite dedicated" to her back at the height of Mickiemania here. It was pretty weird. I haven't seen that with AJ yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if it started soon. Even though I happen like her a bit myself .

I dont think there is nothing wrong with having worshippers or being one. Just aslong as the obsession is controlled, i dont see the big issue. Its one of the reasons Jeff Hardy hasn't been fired yet from TNA after all of his stupidity. He has a cult following that will follow him even if he worked as a shoe shiner. Its those types of fans that gives celebrities and famous people bargaining power against greedy corporations.

I was the girl who stayed home on Saturday nights and played video games, and was completely fine with that." Literally the first thing she said on WWE television.

In that massive, demented overreactions and generalisations whenever there's a discussion about her performances to the point where either side make any kind of debate about her boring and unreadable with inevitable descent into childish bickering - Yes.

I actually hope people talk about AJ more. I had to sift though countless Lord Tensai threads over the last few weeks, so I'll be damned to see people make others feel bad about wanting to discuss her.

Please, AJ's gluteus maximus is nowhere near "centaurlicous" as Mickies.

I can't wait until it comes out that due to the angle on TV Punk banged AJ in real life. Because it's GOING to happen.

I wasn't here during the supposed peak of Mickie worship here but I've been elsewhere and I can say for certain that the answer is no.

What a minute...so AJ isn't actually a nerd!?
Next you're going to tell me Shawn Michaels isn't a sexy boy, Bret Hart isn't a Hitman, and Undertaker is not dead! Curse you Internetz!!!

It's different groups of guys (and girls) that creep on them. Personally I think AJ has the potential to be bigger than Mickie in terms of creepers obsessing over her. With AJ people are simply attracted to her since she appeals to the lonely neckbeards, she's small, she's cute, she's Asian, and she's the personification of the "idiot nerd girl" meme. Do I think she's a nerd? Perhaps, but nowhere near the level she plays it up. There's a ton of guys on here creeping it up with quot;babes" and divas in the signatures, but it more than likely ends right there. You have to look at the nutty loons that get a tattoo for AJ or phone in a bomb threat to HQ like that Mickie fan did to really gauge it all. I think the Mickie stalkers are a lot more dangerous than the AJ ones, who are mostly harmless dorky guys. Dude, she's Puerto Rican. Not really the point of your post, but where'd you get Asian from? We geeks are a multicultural sort, you know. Alison Haislip, Aisha Tyler; they don't have to be Asian to get the adoration.

I don't know, something seems to be missing from AJ's crazy repertoire. Hmmm..... Only thing is she is involved with men. Unless you are saying that shw will......nevermind!

Mickie James was arguably in a perfect storm of being attractive, competent in ring, in a well crafted storyline, and demonstrating strong personality in ring. While the proverbial torch was carried for some time a lot of the overt affection and celebration of her tapered off after her babyface turn (and probably after she stopped wearing skirts, if we're being honest).
While AJ's cute appearance and quasi-personality (regardless of its alleged manufactured nature) is obviously appealing I suspect much of the interest is in the far more notable attribute of being a Diva who's displaying/allowed a personality with the hint of actual depth.
