Manning is a 2-year guy at best, and the rest of that team is not a championship-level team. Makes no sense to me. Tennessee wouuld have made more sense. The guy is a GOD there,

So the Broncos did all that trading to get Tim Tebow in the draft, and they're trading him to get Manning. Wow, Denver. Wow.

And let the Broncos be like WCW and bring in as many of Manning's old chums as possible.
It would help Denver, but it's obvious that the Broncos are gunning for the short term. However, I strongly believe Tebow will stay on the team and be moved to a different position.

ESPN just announced that Manning told his agent to start negotiations with Denver. It would have been a nice thing to have used some of that cap space to have signed a couple of those WRs that have already been snapped up. What other WRs that are worth a damn are still available? Also, LOL@San Fran, who now has to go find a QB I could care less about where Manning landed actually but not sure why he would go with Denver.

Hey Tim Tebow, thanks for getting us a playoff win for the first time in ages, but we are going to trade you.

Montana, Unitas and now Manning.

Let's keep in mind exactly what idiot was responsible: Mini-Hoodie McDaniles. All of you crapping on this right now will be such huge "supporters" of the Broncos as they win 11 plus games a season for however long Manning is here for.

Elway and Fox aren't looking any smarter for bringing in a possibly broken down QB, ruining team chemistry, letting all the good receivers go so he has no one to throw to and blowing up the future for a slim chance at doing something in 2 years. If I am wrong I will gladly admit it but this reeks of worse stupidity than McDaniels could dream of.

Let's leave the "armchair" GM'ing, scouting, physical exams, coaching etc. to the guys with way more actual knowledge and experience than any of us. Just a thought.

If I am wrong I will gladly admit it but this reeks of worse stupidity than McDaniels could dream of. This is THE BIGGEST free agent acquisition in NFL history. And it happened on EFX's (Elway, Fox, Xanders) watch. And what receivers exactly did we let go of (if you are refering to Marshal...again McDaniels, and Eddie is a cool guy and all, but a 3rd or 4th receiver at best)?? Manning has been cleared by doctors, passed physicals, thrown for possible suitors and will have language in his contract that protects the Broncos in regards to any problems arising from his previous neck surgeries/injury. And Manning IS the future. Like next 4 or 5 years (whatever contract length is). I don't care about what we do in 2018 or 2020 at the moment. I care about what the 2012 season will look like. And I like our chances right now. AFC West sucks right now. 10 or 11 wins and you are in most likely (and 8-8 isn't going to cut in every year).

I'm a Gator, I'm pulling for Tebow to succeed, but I'admit the man is not a great QB. From that stance, and that stance alone, signing Manning makes sense. My problem is this, Manning has only played in one system in his pro career, one that was designed specifically for him, which he was then given the run of. All the guys around him were brought in to compliment that.
I don't begrudge it, it worked, it got him a ring and he flourished. Thing is, it takes a while for people to learn the system. Denver's D is old, despite their play during the winning streak last year. The running game has promise, but Peyton Manning is a "pass first, second, and third, then run if we absolutely have to" QB. Always has been.
So what's left? Rebuild the D, get younger, change the offense to suit Manning so he can succeed, and what? Playoffs? A Super Bowl?
No, not going to happen no tthis year and not next year. So unless Manning has more than two years in him, the point of this move is a waste. The O line is decent, but he needs receivers taht know him, know the system that he runs (and it is HIS system, not the coach's, not anymore) and so on. The D needs a methodical and "eat clock" offense to stay rested unless they go all defense in the draft and get younger really damn fast.
It can work, but again, Denver is playing with a very short clock here. Does Manning have enough time on his side to be around when everyone else figures out the system, or will he be spent by then?

I seriously have to wonder what Denver has and why that made Peyton say yes?
Titans and 49ers understandable- defense, running game- but what does Denver have?
Folks, Denver will be the center of the NFL universe (just as it was late last year)

We do have a beautiful state here, it's nice practically anywhere you go. As for Manning coming here, I'm not completely sure how I feel as a fan yet - I'm happy and I'm sad, I'm excited and I'm nervous, I'm ecstatic and I'm pissed off.

I guess Denver goes through the draft for some wide receivers or defensive players, or sign some free agents. Even with Pey-Pey they should have enough cap room to sign some other pieces.
