Though it is a fair point. I don't think the book explains why they bred raptors either. Maybe just because they could. There was a lot of that with InGen. In the book at least they just made dinosaurs, put them in eggs and waited to see what would come out - there was no way on knowing what it was until it hatched and even then they couldn't be sure until it grew. After spending all that time, money on effort on making something, they wouldn't want to get rid of it, even if it was dangerous. They were more focused on retaining their investment and making money than on safety. Except the bred eight of them in the movie (at least until the alpha female killed all but two of the others) and I can't remember how many in the book but it was more than that. It's not like they are birthing them in clutches like actual dinosaur egg laying, the process as described in both movie and book means they'd have to do it individually. After the first one was born surely they would have put some thought into not using that particular DNA strand again.

Not sure if this is well known but Empire Magazine just Tweeted that Jurassic Park will be 3D in US cinemas on the 19th of July 2013.

Don't you see Steven, 3D is the most gimmicky force in the cinematic world today, but you wield it like a kid who's found his dad's gun.
