I suspect some of the writing of Russo in WCW and Brian Gerwitz in WWE has turned Storm off of comedy in wrestling.

"The Rock Rocky Miavia, Conspiricy Victim Chris Jericho, Rapping John Cena, DX HHH, were all comedy midcarders before the hit the main event big time. Yes, but they all had to change and evolve their character before truly achieving "big time". Not to say that Zack can't or won't... but right now, there is not much more than "woo woo woo" and the word "bro".

I love Lance Storm. He's like wrestlings own Henry Rollins. They need to bring him back and have a stable of hipsters for him to wrestle and lecture at

Is there something wrong with being a mid-card comedy act?

to be fair, LTS is one of those guys that takes the wrestling business very seriously. That doesn't mean that he is bitter. It just means he's not a fan of comedy gimmicks. I never said he was bitter. I like LTS and think he has written some very good commentaries and has had an interesting career (plus his school is nice), but I do feel he takes some things way too seriously.

Is there something wrong with being a mid-card comedy act? Not really, but I think the point he's trying to make is he couldn't take him seriously as a main event contender if he were to ever get to that level with the same type of gimmick

I agree. I don't like the gimmick. There's nothing to it, and he's in half the segments of Raw every week. I don't want to dislike him, but he and WWE are making me.

Of course it's a comedy midcard gimmick. That's why Ryder's being booked as a comedy midcarder.
Santino was all over RAW at his peak too, and got a couple midcard title reigns out of it.

LOL. So says the former comedic mid-carder.
No wonder he feels the way he does.
Thing is, laugh at me super serial Lance Storm was pretty over................and so is Zack Ryder.
Hell, that's where Edge and Christian both started getting built and they've both done pretty well for themselves, haven't they? Same with Jericho, as has been said.

Being boring gets you over.
(I say this as a huge Lance Storm fan.)

If Lance Storm knew what it took to get over, he would've been.

If Lance Storm knew what it took to get over, he would've been. You must have missed most of his career. It imply that he wasn't over in ECW or WCW is just wrong.

I know he was over, but in the WWE Universe, he wasn't anything. I dig Storm, but let's be real. In the WWE style of pro wrestling, he had no chance.

Ryder is ten times more over now than Lance Storm was in his whole career.

Hell, even then the UnAmerican stuff was over like crazy though cheap.
