Wow, this thread turned heavy out of nowhere.
Okay, bring back Jimmy Del Ray and finally do the long awaited incest angle.

NO. I DEMAND USOS TWINCEST. Meanwhile, on fanfiction.net... Never seen that, but I once read Primo/Carlito porn. I wanted to give myself a lobotomy after that. It was creepy. And not the good kind of creepy. Aww, I checked FF.net and the Usos aren't even listed in the list of characters you can select from. Darn. I was hoping somebody had gone there. ...I don't know why I continue to read terrible wrestling fanfiction when I always end up regretting it.

If you're gonna make her fight guys, put her in a costume plus mask so no-one can tell she's a she, then have a heel valet screw her out of a title then she transitions to the women's division by taking off the costume so she can get back at who screwed her.
It wont make the matches against guys retroactively creepy, and you just established a legitimate threat in the divas division without having to suffer through Kelly Kelly matches.
Just an idea. Probably bad.

Even if the Uso's committed twincest, they'd still would be regulated to Superstars. Trent Barrett could fornicate with a Basham and he'd still make approximately 1.4 Smackdown appearances a year. The freak card just isn't all that powerful anymore.
Anyway, Del Rey should go to WWE because she's awesome and deserves to make the next step. The fact that having her go in and face men is seen as the best way to utilize her is kind of sad; not because that doesn't play into an aspect of her gimmick or that in a kayfabe form of entertainment it would be impossible. Just that why should she have to? It's like taking the Midnight Express or the Road Warriors and saying, "Eh, we don't do tag team wrestling anymore, one of you guys has to become an evil businessman." or telling Rey Mysterio that he's the only lucha guy needed. Why can't Del Rey wrestle against other talented women? I mean, I know why but still. Would it really break the bank to get Del Rey, Cheerleader Melissa, Kong, Roxxi, Winter, Tara, etc. and have a legitimate division. Keep Kelly Kelly, Eve, the Bellas, and add more wrestling oriented women so everyone can be happy?

I think she's great, but bringing in someone of her ability when Kelly is the Divas champion is pointless. WWE would need to majorly sort out the division first before they bring in legit female wrestlers IMO.

In any case, as great as Sara is, I don't think she would fit into divas division as it currently is.

Yep. I'm a total bigot. You pegged me bro. #cornetteface You portrayed 100 million Americans with a single statement based solely on geographical and cultural boundaries, that's pretty much the very model of a bigoted statement. Of course, I never said you were a "total bigot" or even any sort of bigot, because I don't know what's going on inside your head. Only pointing out that your "oh, NOW it's a cultural statement!" sarcasm is completely misplaced given who actually started talking about cultures. Again, how is it any different between two men doing it also in the context of an athletic sporting context. Are you really that incapable of separating the context of an evenly matched athletic contest from an S&M fetish video or a mainstream "torture porn" movie? If context doesn't matter, then there are an immensely greater number of people with violent sexual hangups than you are giving credit for, given the excessive popularity of Xena and Buffy and Alias and the countless minor variants (Relic Hunter, Sheena, She Spies, and many others) which were, at their core, nothing more than an hour of women punching, kicking in the head, choking and beating up (and oh yeah, KILLING) dozens of men in rapid-fire succession as if they were 50 point ducks in a shooting gallery. If all you have to say to that is "but men are stronger, so in THAT case it's okay", then your argument has no merit in this case, since we are talking about comparing two equally strong athletes -- the whole point of normalizing by weight class. It's like that old riddle, "which is heavier, a pound of feathers or a pound of gold?" Surely THAT doesn't have you stumped as well? For that matter, following your sexism to its logical conclusion, woman-vs-woman MMA should be twice as bad, since it has twice as much violence against women, yet since evenly matched woman-vs-woman MMA is acceptable to you, evenly matched man-vs-woman fights should be even more so, as it only has half the misogyny. Buy a vinyl repair kit, patch up the holes in your argument, and get back to me. long post eh. Set up your own MMA promotion, and book some women vs men matches. Tell me how much luck you have with sponsors, tell me how much luck you have with attendance, tell me how much luck you have with finding a PPV or TV carrier, tell me how much luck you have with getting a single athletic commission to sanction such a thing. I doubt you'll have that much luck, friend. Which is why such hideous ideas don't play out.

Boy, we really like to argue, don't we? Threads like this touch on all the hot topics: Indy wrestlers in WWE, fantasy booking, the current state of the Divas division (which means K2's going to come up eventually), and the added bonus of about three pages of arguing whether or not Sara Del Rey should fight dudes. Quite frankly, I admire our resolve as a board. I've seen more mundane threads turn into flame wars.

.... Because the sympathy she would get from the crowd would be incredible. So, if she gets beaten down and fights back, who wouldn't pop for that. I don't think she can be a heel and dominate the babyface, and the babyface has to make a comeback wrestling her, because I don't think anyone is going to cheer you fighting back on a woman. There is no doubt that any man who goes against her would automatically be the heel, but therein you are missing the point why this is a colossally bad idea: ANY man, under ANY circumstances, for ONLY the reason you described, would be the heel. You are left with such a one-dimensional character which is such a tragic waste of someone of SDR's talents, to say nothing about the other points described above (SDR goes the distance and beats/almost beats a 250# man. How is Kelly Kelly supposed to be a threat now?) You mention that you are aware of society's views of women as the weaker sex. This means you are also aware of society's views of women as a "higher class" of victim, and how it would so completely limit what people will put up with. The 90s pretty much established that for every one punch a woman takes from a man, she needs to kill about 30 of them in cold blood to look about even ("The Xena ratio", if you will). And, since you identify as a feminist, you know full well that as soon as the WWE does what you propose, there will exist some feminists who will then turn that right around and cite this as an example of the WWE "promoting misogyny", "promoting woman-on-man violence", etc. etc. It is a battle that cannot be won. The WWE is wise for not even going there. As WOPR said, the only winning move is not to play. EDIT: If SDR only EVER fought men, NEVER competed for the Divas belt, competed only for the now-returning Cruiserweight belt, and started her WWE run with about four months of face-on-face matches so technically squeaky clean that they'd put the Bob Backlund mirror match to shame, then you could make something work. Not necessarily every man would be a heel. Some wouldn't be a heel, such as Daniel Bryan, as they could have more clean babyface matches (though admittedly he and others would be the de-facto heel similar to Christian vs Yoshi Tatsu in ECW). She doesn't have to be a one dimensional character. She can't be a heel, but she could certainly have more layers to her. It's about establishing her as a potential threat, and women have been able to defeat guys in fights and different other sports, why not here. Any group will not like something of anything. Feminism is about sex equality, not women being better then men or anything or women just being mad at men. And if Del Rey beats/almost beats that 250 pound guy then faces Kelly Kelly, then Del Rey becomes the mountain to climb and the dragon to slay. I think it would get more of a positive reaction, because heels would be mysoginistic, being that they're heels, and babyfaces could be more accepting of her ability.

NO. I DEMAND USOS TWINCEST. I DEMAND MORE TOYS! I WANT SOME PANTS! A DECENT PAIR OF PANTS!But anyway, why not have her in female four horsemen/evolution type stable with Sara, Melissa, Mercedes, and Eagles? You bring in those four, and the division would be deeper than ever.

Can they even air Men vs. Women matches in Canada? I seem to recall that they edit out all male/female violence from WWE programming.
