If true, it's VERY retarded. I mean, BEYOND retarded. Especially SMALL TOWNS will pop hard for being mentioned. I know both: living in small towns and living in major cities and the people in small town identify so much more with their hometowns.

It's great to be back...RIGHT HERE IN ELK MOUNTAIN, WYOMING! *considers thumbs up, then just casually walks off camera*

The guys on Review A Raw (one of Live Audio Wrestling's weekly podcasts) made a brief mention of how no one said the name of the town they were in. I wouldn't be surprised in the least if someone heard this and it became a NEWZ item. Jon and Wai Ting were referencing news stories from last year (or even longer ago) that said Vince didn't want smaller towns to be acknowledged during TV broadcasts.

This is not a new thing. The RAW and Smackdown I attended in Manchester in 2008 was billed from 'The United Kingdom' along with clips of London.

I know they do this when they are in Knoxville, TN. Instead of saying "Knoxville" they always say "The University Of Tennessee"

Why would they hold shows in these places then? Vince fascinates me.

I say wait till Wrestlemania, when he bills it "LIVE OUTSIDE NEW YORK CITY!" Their standard line in that case is usually: "In the shadow of New York City!" It'll be hilarious if they say it, or actually acknowledge that WrestleMania is in New Jersey next year.

It's a shame that we've never seen Raw emanate from the esteemed Cow Palace.

It'll be hilarious if they say it, or actually acknowledge that WrestleMania is in New Jersey next year. To date their verbiage has always been "Wrestlemania from the Meadowlands, in the shadow of New York City." So they aren't saying East Rutherford but they are mentioning some part of New Jersey.

I wouldn't be surprised in the least if someone heard this and it became a NEWZ item. We will find out next week, because they will be in Laredo, TX. I would be surprised if Vince could find Laredo on a map of Texas. Hey, I remember that SmackDown where the Great Khali won the World Heavyweight Championship. They DID mention Laredo. Still, it sucks for Fort Wayne.

So does that mean they'll stop taping shows in smaller towns and cities? I mean, if they're name isn't even worth mentioning in the broadcast that they must not be worth doing televised shows at, right?

Mick Foley would have mentioned it if he were GM this week instead of last week.

I love how from all accounts, McMahon will stress over the pettiest of matters while more often than not completely ignoring the bigger picture. Hey, that's why he hired Wade Barrett.
