Newz. Stupid, bulls***, retarded newz. This has been going on for atleast 2 or 3 years now. They almost never mention the location of Raw or Smackdown when WWE is in a smaller town. I certainly believe it. Not everything reported online is "NEWZ", no matter how much some would like to think so.

Funny, there are over 300,000 people in Fort Wayne, it's really not a small city at all. Also, it was a real sell out for Raw, something they don't get too often, maybe they should actually appreciate it. This is why I miss WCW, they came here all the time and had no problem mentioning it on Nitro. Exactly, I was lucky enough to be in the 3rd row and it was a legit sellout....they were turning people away at the door, as Gorilla would say. Getting a crowd of 12,000 to an event when you have 300,000 in your city is quite the accompishment.

I know they do this when they are in Knoxville, TN. Instead of saying "Knoxville" they always say "The University Of Tennessee" Same with shows in Raleigh - they say NC State University (granted, it is the same arena the NC State basketball team, and the Carolina Hurricanes for anyone interested, play in). But it kinda boggles my mind. Does he consider Charlotte a bigger city than Raleigh? After all, Raleigh IS the capital of NC, but Charlotte is seen as the business capital of NC, and I guess has a better wrestling tradition, like Greensboro also.

Wrestling has only soldout the Coliseum twice from my understanding, when Hogan came in 1988 and Nitro in 1998. Both before the additional 2000 seats were added.

Makes sense. He's the insecure egomaniac who could never reconcile his trailer park roots and is desperate to be recognized as legitimate by the entertainment industry, sports media, and politicians. Every action Vince McMahon makes screams "VALIDATE ME! VALIDATE ME! MY DADDY NEVER LOVED ME!"
I half-expect Michael Cole to just announce every non-New York or LA show as "we're coming to you from FLY OVER COUNTRY!"

We will find out next week, because they will be in Laredo, TX. I would be surprised if Vince could find Laredo on a map of Texas. My favorite was back in the late 80's/early 90's where Vince would have the announcers put the term "suburban" in front of a major city in lieu of saying the smaller one. "Live from Suburban Cleveland Ohio (Richfield, ahem), it's The Survivor Series!" It's also why Edge and Christian are from "Toronto" instead of "Orangeville." "Live from the Allstate Arena in suburban Chicago!" Used to be "Live from the Rosemont Horizon in suburban Chicago." It's in Rosemont, believe it or not.
