If it's the culmination of the big summer angle then that's disappointing. If it's the start of the summer angle then we'll just have to wait and see.

Yeah, it kind of feels weak in comparison to Nexus and the Pipebomb, especially considering Punk's only been face for a year. Now if only there was a superstar out there that's been a top face for years, and who's heel turn would really be seen as a major deal. That could have really been a big summer angle.

We need to hear why he turned heel before we declare it a "big" anything, from "summer angle" to "mistake."

I dunno, personally I think Cena going heel would've been more impactful since as BigWill said, Punk's only been face for a year now. But if he stays away from his "I'm better than you" stuff, it could be big.

C'mon, have Bryan join him. Perfect timing, with Bryan having a meltdown due to to the wedding and Rock hitting the Rock Bottom on him.

It makes sense to have Punk and Bryan team up, with Rock and Cena as their opposites. I imagine Rock and Cena can be all buddy buddy now.

I don't accept that he even is a heel. They better have a good explanation, because until they do, as far as I'm concerned, he isn't one.

Honestly it feels like the only reason Punk was even booed was because it was The Rock. He probably could've done the exact same thing to anyone else and gotten cheered by the majority.

Their big angle is that a guy that turned face like a year ago turned back to heel.

Well, that's why he didn't touch Cena. Of course the problem with this is that eventually he has to and Cena will sell the whole situation as a goofy joke and turn half of the crowd against him, screwing the whole thing up.

It was the only way to turn him heel. It was like with Batista when he turned heel, he was still getting loud cheers over Mysterio that they had to feud him with The Undertaker one of the few guys who is more liked than him with the audience to finally give him heel heat.

Honestly, it seems like they turned Punk just for the sake of having a "hot" summer angle. As opposed to Nexus and the contract expiration angle from last year, which would have been hot angles at any time of the year.

I mean, I'm sure that they'll have a good explanation for why Punk did what he did but I feel this is either going to end up being "Rock isn't here and you cheer him?" or something involving Punk's "frustrations" with WWE. Cena turning heel would've been far more interesting, imo.

I don't accept that he even is a heel. They better have a good explanation, because until they do, as far as I'm concerned, he isn't one. An easy explanation is that he's sick of being over-shadowed by John Cena. Even though Punk's been the champion for a long time, Cena's had the main event spot on almost every PPV. It practically writes itself, IMO. They can say that Punk's tired of that b.s. and wants the spotlight for himself. And they foreshadowed the heel turn for weeks with people like Eve and Big Show bringing up how Punk's just another guy and Cena's the only one who matters.

I would almost guess this is in a sense redoing last years "Summer of Punk" and with the benefit of hindsight provides a chance to get it right this time so I'm sort of looking forward to this.
