Edge winning the title was Step One.
Step Two: Bring back the Eagle Belt!!!!! (Worn by Hogan, Savage, Bret, last seen at WM 14)

You could say that he didn't deserve it because of the Matt Hardy situation. So? Chris Benoit had an affair with Kevin Sullivan's wife (eventually marrying her) and he won the title. Are you gonna tell me Benoit didn't deserve it. Not saying that Edge doesn't deserve it (So long as, personally, he gets rid of the Lita on-screen character, I'll be happy), but there's a difference between the two situations, and that's time. Benoit stole Sullivan's wife in the early '90s, I believe, and won the title officially (as in, the decision was not reversed) in 2004. Edge stole Lita in 2005, and won the title in 2006. Kudos to him, I'm just hoping that Lita merrily wraps her lips around his penis and does not talk in the inevitable promo that will be on tonight.

Enjoy the belt while you can, Edge...
...'cause quite franky, I'd rather have Viscera as champion than you.

Who does the Pwned sigs?
Cause I want to see one with Cena in it.
WWE did the right thing. You can't have the top face of Raw being booed by half the audience. But I don't why they did not give the title to Angle.
I guess they chose Edge cause he had the mitb and it would of made sence.
If it was HHH this place would have gone into meltdown.

As much as Edge bores the hell out of me in the ring...
I'm glad he's champ. I mean, it's had such a build-up, and we all knew the MITB thing would come up sometime after a match. I'm just glad its after the WWE had Cena pin Carlito, if for no reason other to save the evening.
Besides, now it looks like Angle will fued with Flair, and have a grade-A series of matches, or keep fueding with Cena and keep Cena out of the main events.
Either way, it's fine by me. I was getting bored of Cena main-eventing. That's not Cena-hate. That, ladies and gentlemen is Justin Credible an opinion.

Myself and my friends had predicted that Edge would come out and win the title after the Chamber match. I was happy to see that prediction come true. I've been a fan of Edge's for quite some time, and was happy to see him win the title. For the first time in a long time, I'm going to make it a point to watch Raw tonight.

I'm neither a lover nor a hater of Edge, but I was really happy to hear that he got the strap last night.
I think he really does have what it takes to be a true main eventer, and a title run might be just the thing to get him over the edge (no pun intended) in fans' perspectives.
At the same time, this does come off as desperation booking due to the fact that Cena's popularity has been dropping like a rock. Unfortunately, unless you have someone increadibly talented (like Hogan or The Rock), as soon as you put the belt on a face, his shelf-life is shortened conciderably.

You might remember that Matt Hardy is my fav, but even I am happy that Edge used his MITB to best effect. I was slightly affraid they would have him use it this way at a mixed brand show and have Matt screw him out of it. I'm not as bored of Cena as many here were, but this offers many more new possibilities. My only wish is that I wish Edge had been healthy for the few months leading up to the title change in order to build him up a little better. I hope they do the opposite thing that they did with Jericho. Jericho won the first undisputed title in the strongest way possible, truly worthy of Superman himself. He then was given the limpest title reign. It was so-so in his return feuds with Rock and Austin, but the WWE punked him out totally to HHH. Edge won in the wimpiest way possible. It was great, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't put him higher than the Raw Heeldom Measuring Stick, HHH. Edge really needs to be used extremely well to do that. I hope the writers are up to the task, or this will be worse than both JBL's and Jericho's reigns put together, and nobody, except maybe Matt, wants that.

ok i dont watch WWE PPVs but from what I read on wwe.com the Ric Flair/Edge feud shouldnt be over. Does this mean a final Ric Flair WHC title run before he retires?

Triple H ....Seriously he needs to take some time off and see a plastic surgeon about clipping some of that fat off because it's getting harder and harder for him to suck that steroid jelly fat in...his gut hangs over his trunks and his pecs are looking like boobs...and he needs to grow a full beard because that double chin is becoming a triple chin...start calling him Triple Chin...Dude is seriously out of shape...

Wasn't Edge really boring and a terrible heel who only got a reaction for banging Lita?
At least that's what I remember reading everywhere.
Anyway, even tough Edge hasn't really proven himself as a singles wrestler and Christian was the charismatic one. It was definately a great moment when he beat Cena.
It showed that not only did it make sense, it also used the MITB-angle. And Edge is a fresh main-eventer.
To me this shows that WWE might be going in a different direction, a logical one with better booking (because it was great booking).

Why are you looking at Triple H's "boobs"?
Anyways, Edge should've won the strap years ago
its about time!

Why did they include Chris Masters in the Elimination Chamber when the guy obviously wont take a bump or do a blade job, he was so useless in that match.

So Triple H and Big Show could have a match in the midcard.
Good sacrifice I'd say, although Masters should have been eliminated first. Even Carlito rolling Kurt up for the pin would've been better than that dumbass, Masters.

I called Edge abit ago. Really, wasnt it obvious he was off for it when he said earlier 'I have bigger things on my mind'? Even so I still marked. Nothing against Cena, but after he won the chamber, that was the point where I could take no more of SuperCena. If Carlito had waited a little to he attacked Masters, we would have had two new champions in one night. XD But please whilst Edge must be congratulated on his rise, let us take a minute for the fall of another. Gregory Helms. A wrestler in my top 5 in the current WWE roster who has just had his career flushed down the toliet by Jerry 'The King' Lawler. Conspiracy I say.

So from NYR we have all learned that the WWE can still pull off a swerve and though Angle is willing to job to Cena, he isn't willing to job to Jesus.
Also anyone think we could see another money in the bank ladder match at WM?

HHH/Show was a pleasent surprise. It told a STORY, and wasnt just a match filled with insane spots and sick looking moves. Maybe it dragged a bit in the middle, but the last 5 mins were great.
Edge winning was good as well. I really wouldnt be surprised to see Cena heel turn after that, the crowd turned so VISCIOUSLY on him.
I think a reason that Cena's title run was got so stale because BOTH world champions were having long reigns and having Cena look like superman gets old real quick while having Batista look invincible doesnt.

The problem with the HHH/Big Show match was that you KNEW HHH was gonna win it.
