I know that the Mass Effect series has plenty of FANs, so I figured I'd start a thread with the release mere days away in America and a few more after that for the rest. We can coninue talking about it here after its released so be forwarned come tuesday this thread will more than likely be littered with spoilers.
What is everyone looking forward to? Expectations?
Oh, and the launch trailer is so effin epic
Its genuinely been a long time since I've been this pumped for a video game.

I haven't even played the demo because I don't want anything - and I mean ANYTHING - to be spoiled. I planned to buy it on release day but I think I'll have to buy it on Sunday morning because I can then spend the whole day playing it, and I have Mondays and Tuesdays off anyway. It took me 3 days to beat Mass Effect 2 so I assume it'll be the same here. Is it weird that I really want to bang Miranda again?

Can't wait for Tuesday. Kinda pissed at the day one DLC but I'll probably buy it anyway. Damn fanboyism.

Wow, those Rachni ships look good. What Rachni ships? The only ships I saw in the trailer were Geth ships, the Migrant Fleet, Destiny Ascension, Reapers, Turian ships, basically everything but Rachni ships.

You know what I liked the best from the trailer? That a Thresher Maw, a beast with no sense of humanity, or advanced intelligence, portrayed in the series so far as savage predators with no emotions or motivations, instinctively is attacking a Reaper!
Oh and Garrus- 'Go out there and give them hell- You were born to do this'. Chills man, chills.

I've yet to play any of these games before but have always been interested. Now that I'm reading that the PS3 version will also include ME1, my interest is increasingly piqued. I'm a HUGE sci-fi fan. Think I may like this series?

Think I may like this series? If you love sci-fi, you will LOVE this. It's a very detailed gaming world, that's for sure.

Think I may like this series? Where did you hear this? ME1 is owned by Microsoft. There's NO way that it'll ever hit the PS3. Which is why we got the interactive comic before it.

I think "Half Life 3" is the only game that can surpass this in terms of my excitement (When and IF it's actually announced).
I have the week off work for it

I am super pumped for this game! I'm probably going to play my Stone Cold Steve Austin renegade Shepard then my paragon Shepard that I based on myself. And I'm totally gonna bang Tali again!

Either way, you still should check out the series if you're a sci-fi geek like you said.
ME2 is up there as one of my favorites of ALL TIME, so ME3 has a lot to live up to.

To my eternal anger, I've had the entire ending spoiled for me by a YouTube link claiming to be a "customized" trailer. While I'll still eventually play the game, what I saw was, lamentably, enough to convince me to wait for the price drop. Unbelievable. Trying to convince myself what I saw was fake, or outdated, or something. Really want it to be.

There was more than one ending to Mass Effect 2. Perhaps it will be the case for 3 as well. I know that there has been an incredible amount of backlash for the leaked ending, and I am doing my damnedest to avoid it, but honestly it would have to be extremely awful for it to ruin everything up to that point in the series for me.

Endings without context are a horrible thing to judge a story by. Could have also been an intentionally leaked fake ending.
I don't know the ending, but I'm pretty much taking a vacation from the internet once I get the game.

Talking to a pal who played it and another who watched streams of it made me cancel my pre-order and just rent it. The pew pew shooty stuff is better but the reasons I actually liked the previous games are worse.
Hope my info is totally wrong and I love the game. Seems like DA2 deja vu though. :/

Pre-ordered at Amazon.
I REALLY need to finish all the DLC on Mass Effect 2. I downloaded the newer ones, and then Fallout or something came out and I never got around to finishing.
