Since it's always after midnight one would be lead to believe that there is absolutely no time to feed a Mogwai that wont result with it morphing into some horrible repitilian creature with bad intentions
Also, do their internal clocks follow daylight savings time?

This is why we need a Gremlins 3. To explain all of this stuff.
I'll say after sunrise.

Technically it's after midnight somewhere in the world at any time, so how does that play into things too?
I was wondering that a while ago.

The don't get it wet rule makes no sense either. What happens if it sweats, or drools on itself or something?

It's impossible to feed them at anytime. How am I supposed to take this movie seriously with such a gaping plot hole?

Well, by that logic, it is always before midnight, so it should be always okay to feed a Mogwai.

They exposed the illogic of the rules in Gremlins 2, but then Mohawk kicked their heads in

The rules bothered me as a kid. Spent far too long thinking about them. It felt like a weight off my shoulders when I listened to the commentary on DVD years later and they explained that the vagueness was part of the fun. Still can't help running through the questions in my head whenever I see the film though. It's like it never leaves you.

My question is, how do you bathe your mogwai if you cant get him wet?

I like how they actually made fun of the rules in Gremlins 2.

My theory is that it can't be fed between midnight and sunrise. It would have made a lot more sense to say that they can't be fed after dark. My question is, how do you bathe your mogwai if you cant get him wet? They have to stink bad after a while. Take him to the cleaners! [/monsoon]

My question is, how do you bathe your mogwai if you cant get him wet? You don't, like many animals it has dust baths when the need arises.

The don't get it wet rule makes no sense either. What happens if it sweats, or drools on itself or something? That's something that bothered me in the original film. Stripe and the gang are walking, running, and even hiding in SNOW. Isn't that just frozen water? Why weren't they constantly multiplying?
